Meet Lyric Elise | Salon Owner/Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyric Elise and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lyric, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always been an entrepreneur. I am a salon owner, Licensed Master Cosmetologist, certified Health and Nutrition Coach and Confidence Coach. During the pandemic in 2020 the salon was closed for almost 6 months and I didn’t know how I would pay the bills, and take care of my three year old son. In my profession I get paid for performing a physical service. In finding the right business I knew I needed a mission first. How can I serve, my community and help solve a problem. I wanted to create something that would still be in line with my passion, which is to help women feel better by enhancing their beauty and generate income beyond the chair.
I say, “Look fabulous and you will gain confidence to accomplish anything.” Hair plays an important role in determining self-image, social perceptions, and psychosocial functioning. While this relationship between hair and self-confidence is common sense, it’s also scientifically proven. Studies show that bad hair days can cause low self esteem and interfere with interpersonal relations and may prevent an individual from pursuing any goals. When you love your hair it can give you a boost of confidence. I want to promote feeding the self esteem with positive images of yourself, boost confidence, conquer your fears and go after your goals. To accomplish this goal I decided to launch a hair extension and beauty website. Although the business is primarily selling extensions I will also be promoting a healthy lifestyle through partnerships with companies that have internal and external hair growth, hair loss solutions, healthy diet and nutritional plans.
Now I can implement my PLAN.
*Prepare and Position yourself for success with a Purpose.
*Learn and acquire necessary skills for your idea or goal
*Act quickly and follow intuition (your GOD compass)
*Never give up even when things don’t go as planned. Reassess and keep going.
In addition, as part of the marketing program I will be highlighting women owned small businesses on our social media channels. This was particularly important to me as I know many women in my position that need assistance in brand awareness and it feels good to be recognized.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
