We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynisha Henderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lynisha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well I use to draw sketches as a child never taking the actual idea of  sketching/Drawing seriously. My grandmother seen my sketches and told me she had a friend who runs fashion shows locally in Buffalo Ny and she offered to make some of my pieces I was thrilled but as a child I was reluctant of showing or giving someone my creative work because I was not confident in my own work. Some years have passed and I noticed that I still had the love for fashion so I wanted to open my own store I jumped out on faith and tried back in 2017 I was so excited but I had no knowledge on what I needed to do. Jumping into opening a business with no knowledge led me to many many set backs and doors closing so sadly I had to close my store. Closing my store had brought me sadness and made me feel like a failure, so I took that feeling of sadness and failure to rebrand and try again. In 2021 I Reopened Queen Savage Boutique and it was the best decision of my life because I was able to have mentors to show me the ropes I had time off from my job because of the pandemic so I felt this was my moment! my moment to make people see and know all about Queen Savage Boutique, my moment to do everything right.I am a Wife and mother of almost 5 children I stand on being the Queen I am but also a Savage to make sure things get done in a lady way of course lol . My brand is for woman who want to feel confident & comfortable in what they choose to wear. Queen Savage Boutique focus is on everyday wear you can dress down or dress up to which ever occasion you need. Here at Queen Savege Boutique we want to help build up our Queens in confidence make them feel beautiful in every way we can.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I work at ECMC which is a #1 Trauma hospital in Western NewYork. My Department is registration in the Emergency Department. I been here for about 5 years and before that I was at a different hospital Emergency room. I am the source of how the hospital gets paid, most times I am the 1st contact with the patient and their families. I love my job because in most cases I can help the patients I see by being the support system they may not have. Working in a #1 Trauma Emergency Department you will see everything! So you’ll have to develop a numb heart to all sensitive situations that comes through that door and for most people it is very hard to separate and that alone can become very stressful and over whelming.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting depending on the time of day she comes but for Breakfast at the Brickhouse for chicken and waffles man do we love some chicken and waffles! I would have Check to see what events are happening at the Cananal Side, maybe a boat ride and go to a spa to relax and rejuvenated for dinner we can check out 500 Pearl st. Hanging out with besti can go so many ways so it’s hard to plan a day out when we just always go with the flow.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
1st and always Thanking God because he makes everything possible everything  worked out on his timing.

My husband for always believing in me and my ideas when I didn’t, giving me that extra push of confidence and courage that I never knew I had and
My lovely Mother who always supported everything I brought her way telling me to go for it even when I would shut the idea completely out .
Without the push and support from them I wouldnt of been able to be where I am today.
