Meet Lyndsi Hawkins | CEO of Hawkins and Gray Design Firm

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lyndsi Hawkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lyndsi, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
As a parent, I believe the most impactful thing my husband and I have done is to root our family in a deep and active faith in Jesus Christ. Our faith is at the center of everything—shaping our values, guiding our decisions, and surrounding us with a strong, supportive community. We’ve made it a point to involve our children in every part of life through that lens—from the highs to the lows, including our business and its seasons of both increase and decrease. By sharing how we trust God in both the wins and the challenges, we’re helping prepare them for the real world with a foundation of faith, resilience, and perspective.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Our business is rooted in the belief that thoughtful design has the power to bring people together, tell a story, and create a lasting sense of home. What sets us apart is not just the end result, but the experience we create for our clients along the way. We’re deeply relationship-driven—we walk closely with our clients through each phase of the process, treating every project as if it were our own.
What I’m most proud of is how our faith and values are woven into the fabric of our work. We don’t separate who we are personally from what we do professionally. Our business is an extension of our calling—to serve others well, to steward our talents, and to make beauty approachable and meaningful.
The path here wasn’t always easy. Like most entrepreneurs, I’ve faced moments of doubt, unexpected setbacks, and the challenge of balancing work with family. But I’ve learned that growth often comes in those hard places. Leaning into faith, surrounding myself with people who challenge and support me, and staying rooted in purpose has helped me navigate every high and low.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about our brand, it’s that our goal is never to put Hawkins and Gray into someone’s home—it’s to help each client discover and express their vision. We pride ourselves on a tested, thoughtful design process that not only guides the client but captures the information and inspiration needed to bring their vision to life. Every project is a reflection of the people who live there, not just our style. We consider it a privilege to walk alongside our clients in this creative journey, helping them uncover what feels like home to them. That’s what drives us—creating spaces that are deeply personal, meaningful, and uniquely theirs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, we’d head somewhere where the mountains meet the sea for the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. We’d split our time between beachside lounging with a good book and exploring scenic hikes, local markets, and maybe even a waterfall or two. No cooking allowed—just incredible meals at charming cafés, rooftop bars, and oceanfront restaurants. There’d be a spa day, a little zip-lining or snorkeling, and plenty of sunsets with a good drink in hand. It’d be equal parts doing nothing and doing everything—and absolutely perfect.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s hard to recognize just one person when so many have played a part in shaping my journey. First and foremost, my husband has been my biggest supporter—his encouragement and the flexibility he’s given me have allowed my creativity and passion to guide the direction of several businesses. His belief in me has been a constant source of strength.
Micah Abbananto, of Micah & Co., opened a door that truly launched my career. Her mentorship, both professionally and personally, left a lasting impact, and she continues to be a dear friend. Because of her, I now look for opportunities to open that same door for other aspiring designers—to pay it forward with the same generosity and belief she offered me.
And to my business partner, Brooke Coty—thank you for seeing the value in what I bring to the table and for having the courage to take a risk alongside me. Together, we started Hawkins and Gray with a shared vision to serve and connect with our community on a deeper level. Her partnership has been a powerful reminder of what can happen when trust, vision, and heart come together.
