We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucero Morse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucero, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well, I’ve always known I’d be a business owner since I grew up around my grandparents and they owned 2 hotels and a scales repair workshop. My dad would manage their businesses and I used to help balancing the checkbooks when I was 7 years old. I’m Mexican American and serving the Latinx community has become a goal of mine because I’ve been so privileged with education, that I love giving back and helping others.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a very diverse group of mental health therapists who love serving the Atlanta metro area. Luciana and myself are from Brazil and Mexico, respectively. Matthew and Alice are in same gender relationships. Vanessa is from Mexican ascend and has a PhD in School Counseling. We do this work because we genuinely care about the well-being of others and we treat each client with respect and kindness to help them in their healing journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love the following: Best burger – Highland Tap
Best Lobster Roll – Steamhouse lounge
Best hangout with friends – Fowling
Best Ramen – E-ramen
Best Pho – Vietvana
Best Duck – Surin of Thailand in ViHi
Best park – Piedmont park and the beltline

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad and his mom had been instrumental in my desire to become a business owner. My mom has definitively taught me the power of hard work and perseverance. I’m really lucky to have landed my internship at CETPA and learning from Elizabeth Gonzalez-Jaskulak, Gloria Juliao, Mary Flint, and Dr. White has defined my skills set and work ethics. I’m forever grateful to my professors at GSU, like Dr. Diane Levy, Dr. Maggie Walsh, and Dr. Catherina Chang for all of the support and guidance through my studies. In the field, learning from Dr. Gwen Davies, Dr. Rico Curtis-Davidson, Dr. Moneta Sinclair, has been more than rewarding. My colleagues had been key in the development of the practice and I’m forever grateful to Alice Harvey, Melanie Smith, Luciana Aguiar, Vanessa Placeres, and Matthew Reeves for the trust they gave me to create this private practice.
