We had the good fortune of connecting with Lonise Bias and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lonise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My business was started after the death of my 2 sons Len and Jay Bias. Len was a UMD men’s basketball star that was drafted June 19, 1986, by the Boston Celtics. He died 2 days later from a drug related death. 42 months later my second son Jay was murdered in a drive by shooting at a local mall. The deaths of my 2 sons catapulted me into the position of nationally known Public Speaker. I used the death of my 2 sons as an opportunity to encourage and inspire others.

What should our readers know about your business?
My Business is Bspeaks LLC Bspeaks is a Life Investment company that brings new solutions to old problems. We believe the best is yet to come for our clients. We assess the needs of our clients and provide “Messages of Hope” through our workshops and keynote presentations that leave the listeners with hope to press on through the hardships. “WE BELIEVE HOPE IS NOT EXTINCT!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I enjoy all seasons. I love being near the water. I live 2 1/2 hour from the ocean. I would suggest visiting the ocean, but I have learned is because I love the ocean. That doesn’t that mean my guest would enjoy the beach/the water. I would ask my guest what some are of their interest in terms of dining and special places to visit and work out a plan that we both could enjoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO EVERYONE THAT PRAYED FOR THE BIAS FAMILY WHEN THE WE WERE ENDURING THE DARKEST TIME OF OUR LIVE. THE PRAYERS OF THE INDIVIDUALS THAT PRAYED FOR US HELOED GET OUR FAMILY THROUGH. NO MY 2 SONS DID NOT COME BACK FROM THE DEAD. BUT THE PRAYERS GAVE US STRENGTH TO ENDURE THIS HEAVY, HEAVY, HEAVY, BURDEN. WE ARE A CHRISTIAN FAMILY AND WE BELIEVE PRAYER STILL WORKS. WE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO THANK OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND PEOPLE WE DID NOT KNOW FOR THEIR SUPPORT.
