We had the good fortune of connecting with Loneia Powell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Loneia, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is influence. I love to influence other women, especially moms! I want to encourage them to follow their dreams and put themselves first. Women putting other people before them is a natural instinct and I am here to remind other women that it’s ok to chase your dreams! So influencing other women through my platform is the most important factor behind my success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’d love to speak more on my career! I am a full-time teacher and entrepreneur. So, M-F I am all about the youth and pushing literacy to my students and athletes. On the weekends, you can catch me in my office in Midtown Atlanta or on the phone seeking sponsorships or deals for my clients. What sets me apart from others in my tenacity and positive mindset. No matter what is going on around me, I continue to push forward in a positive way.

In my career, I am most proud of the relationships that I’ve cultivated over the years. I’ve recognized that relationship building is my strong suit within my students, co-workers and clients. A lot of people ask me how I can reach people the way that I do and I’m proud to say by being my genuine self.

Honestly, becoming a teacher and an entrepreneur both has been easy and hard. When it comes to teaching, it’s easy because I can reach the youth but having to remain professional and learn the terminology was challenging at first. It’s super easy now! When it comes to being an entrepreneur, waking up and getting to it is easy but staying the course is definitely tough. I’m extremely grateful for both.

I want the world to know that with God, the right people and little bit of hustle, you can make it anywhere in life. My career and brand is nothing without the support I receive from the people in my life and I’m extremely grateful for that.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Yay! I’ve been wanting my friend to visit Atlanta for a while now. So here we go, first we are hitting a few brunch spots in the city during those weekdays. Some of my favorite brunch spots are The Real Milk and Honey, Atlanta Breakfast Club, The Select Breakfast at Barney’s is pretty dope as well.

I’m sure my best friend is going to want to go to a festival or do some sort of outdoor activity and get a chill workout in. We will hit the city and head to the beltline for a nice walk and do some painting at Piedmont Park and maybe have a picnic. This way I can bring the kids, my friends and the vibes!

For the nighttime activity, we can hit up a cute rooftop such as Rose and Rye, 9 Mile Station or Rooftop LOA for some wine. Afterwards we would get some ramen from E Ramen or some Hilal Guys! Lastly, we would close it out with some late-night dessert from Insomnia Cookies or Sublime Doughnuts.

Hopefully throughout the week a festival is going on! Atlanta has some of the best festivals in the south!

That is what my itinerary for the week will be. My best friend would love it because it has fitness, arts, food and vibes involved. You can’t lose!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Awesome, I love that The Shoutout series is all about recognizing others! With that said, I’d like to shoutout the youth. My kids and every student that I’ve encountered thus far. I do it for all of them and they keep me going every single day!
