Meet LoKii AD | Music Artist and Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with LoKii AD and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LoKii, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As I grow older, and truly start to see myself on the path I want to be on, my life is gradually transitioned to focus on everything music. My music career has priority over school, any regular job, fun time, etc. The reason is because I believe I’m at this pivotal stage where if I don’t truly give myself a full chance, I won’t reach my full potential. I have to be more selfish with things right now. I have to make sure that if nothing else, I’m doing this for me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m definitely not like the other artists in Atlanta. I’m proud of my evolution beyond just being good to being great, especially because of how fast I did it. It takes people a decade to accomplish the goals and reach the level of artistry that I have and I did it in 3.5 years. I’m most excited for my music video for song “Blu.” which will have dropped March 12! I know it’s going to be my biggest success, yet. I’m aiming for around the 3 million view mark! This road has not been an easy one, but I’m blessed to say that it wasn’t as hard for me as it was for others. I want the world to know that greatness can come from anywhere and anyone when they see. When they see me, they should see greatness! I want to be the guy who is unstoppable like the Drake, Kendrick, and J Cole, but especially Drake. He has truly shown how to run the game in a way that only a Michael Jackson has done on a higher level. I’ve learned that there really isn’t a limit. No matter where you start from, you can always reach the top with hard work and the blessing of GOD! And since GOD is in you… I think you see where I’m going with this.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely say to go the Belt Line for some good energy and some fire pics. You definitely need to hit Lenox just out of respect, too. As a third, depending on what type of food you eat I’d recommend a Boiler’s Seafood or maybe a Sugar Factory if you want to be all cool and what not. However, if you just want some good food, take yourself to Mrs. Winner’s on Glenwood Rd and get you a three piece snack and a chicken sandwich. I used to like Zesto but I haven’t been in a while. Maybe that still slaps. Ok! For a full day, I’d start with the Mrs. Winner’s in the morning, go to the Belt Line during the afternoon, maybe catch a movie at Atlantic Station and finish out with some dinner at the Sugar Factory. Ok I might have to go here some live Jazz after that, too. My parents put me on to that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout ‘Ugly N’ Atlanta’ a new collective of talented music artists and creatives, one of which is LAKEWUDE (the founder). These guys gave me the ability to perform for the first time in a year and taught me more about working with others and not feeling the need to be independent all the time.
