We had the good fortune of connecting with Locd’N Radio Envy_Seal & Elite and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Locd’N Radio, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process with starting the Locd’N brand was just to be able to have an outlet where we could be bold, brave and outta pocket. We also wanted to have a platform where we are able to bring continued awareness to various real life topics. With building a home at Hits 92.3 over the last year and a half, we have been able to do exactly what our initial objective was and we have listeners tuned in weekly on Saturdays from 12-2pm.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Most artist know that no matter how much work you put in, it always seems like it takes forever before you actually catch a break in the world of creativity. What we are most proud of is the consistency and dedication we have maintained to keep our brand afloat. It isn’t easy to do when you haven’t necessarily achieved all of the success that we are after. The fact is that without dedication and consistency we will never get there. Thus far, we have achieved so much and looking back on our journey and how far we have come leads us to continue with the fire we started with. We have figured out what each of us is good at (which happens to be total opposites) , and from there it has made it easier to push forward and continue to build the brand successfully. It probably helps a little that we were friends before co-hosts, so when our personalities or mood clashes it is easier to get back on track. We have learned to navigate the business & the personal relationships. If you are a creative and finding it hard to find your niche or your drive, look at it this way. Something my Grandmother always tells me when I complain about how long something is going to take is, “the time is going to pass anyways, so you might as well just do it”. So with that I say, everyday write a little bit more of your artistic goals down and tick them off one by one until you start to see progress…after all, the time is going to pass anyways, right?

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly we are both homebodies and if I am going to be brutally honest, I would tell my friends to book me a flight elsewhere. I am not in love with this city but I have made it my duty to start trying to explore new places, so I may have to get back to you on that one. Most of my time is spent with family, just chilling, which I am satisfied with. There is too much going on in the world right now to just want to be outside all the time for no reason; but hey what do I know. Send us some suggestions of cool places in the city so we can review them, maybe then I will have a different outlook on the “fun” in the city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
At this point we really just want to shout out all of our listeners for their continued support. Without them, we wouldn’t even have a show, so we are truly grateful for them. We would also like to give a shout out to Sunshine, who is our engineer. She has definitely grown with the brand in the last few months and she brings an added flavor to our dynamic that we didn’t even know that we needed. Sunshine is also a radio personality at Hits 92.3, with the late night radio show in the morning called “All Hustle, No Fear” from 6-10am Monday thru Friday, you should check her out!
