We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizbeth Tew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizbeth, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I discovered aerial arts in my mid-30s, at a time when going to the gym felt more like a chore than something I truly enjoyed. A few years later, I realized there must be other women in LaGrange who felt the same way but didn’t have access to a nearby aerial studio, the closest ones were 45 minutes to an hour away. So, I took a leap of faith and opened my own small-group and private studio offering aerial yoga, mat yoga, and pole, creating a space for women to move, connect, and feel inspired again.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is a small, heart-centered studio that offers Aerial yoga, Yoga, and Pole classes for adults in a supportive, small-group setting. What sets my studio apart is the intention behind it. It’s not just about fitness or tricks, but about creating a safe space for women to reconnect with their bodies, build confidence, and move with mindfulness and freedom. I’m most proud of the community that has grown here. Seeing women come in shy or unsure, and then watching them light up as they discover their strength, sensuality, and self-expression, that’s what keeps me going. Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. Opening a niche movement studio in a small town meant taking a big risk and doing a lot of educating, not everyone knew what aerial or pole fitness even was at first. I started small, trusted the process, and kept showing up, even on the days it felt impossible. Over time, word spread, and people began to see the beauty and empowerment in what we do.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t need everything figured out to start, you just need to begin and keep believing in your vision, even when others can’t see it yet. What I want people to know about my brand is that it’s built on heart, courage, and authenticity. Movement is more than exercise, it’s a form of healing and self-expression, and my mission is to help others experience that for themselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d want to show them the charm and hidden gems of LaGrange and the surrounding area. We’d start with a morning coffee at Local Groundz or Circa, both have that cozy small-town vibe I love. Then I’d take them to the studio for a fun aerial or pole session, of course! We’d spend an afternoon walking around downtown LaGrange, checking out the local boutiques and art spots, and maybe grab lunch at Mare Sol or Nutwood Winery for some amazing food and good wine. If we wanted a little adventure, we could do a day trip to Pine Mountain for hiking and grab lunch at Cricket’s Restaurant, or roller skating at Southbend State park and grab some lunch at Wild Leap Brewing. Evenings would be all about relaxing and connecting, dinner at Beacon Brewing Co. or Café Brûlée for dessert and coffee, we might enjoy some live music at Pure Life House of Music. I’d want my friend to leave feeling recharged, inspired, and reminded that even small towns can hold so much beauty, creativity, and heart.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe a lot to the people who believed in me even when I was still figuring things out, friends who showed up to my early classes, my family who offered encouragement in their own way, and the mentors and teachers who helped me grow as an instructor. At the same time, a big part of this journey has been about learning to trust myself and take that leap, even without full certainty or support. Not everyone understood my vision at first, but that only fueled my determination to keep going and create something meaningful.
