We had the good fortune of connecting with Live Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Live, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
A career in the music industry was always something I pursued on the side. However, the idea to turn my part-time passion into a full-time career came after I was laid off in 2014. At the time, I was working for CBS Radio in the Sales & Marketing Department for their Urban Hip-Hop Station in Orlando Florida. The station was downsizing and my position was being phased out. So now what…? For a split second I thought about sending my resume over to one of the other competing stations but, that idea never felt good to me. Maybe, I’ll travel until I figured things out but, I didn’t have any extra money laying around to do that. Things didn’t start to become clear until I started to ask myself what I really wanted. If money wasn’t an option, what would I really be doing? At that moment, I knew my part-time side hustle, my passion would become my full-time mission and I’ve never looked back. Since then, I’ve managed to create some amazing relationships with several booking agents & venue managers which has afforded me the opportunity to perform 4 to 5 nights a week at some of the most popular venues throughout Florida.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, I’m a full-time “gigging” musician. Along with performing several nights a week, I’m also producing my own original music. I released my first self-produced single in the fall of 2021 called STONE. I learned so much while making that song and it truly gave me a sense of freedom while doing it. For a long time I always felt trapped because I depended heavily on others to help me with the recording process. However, during the pandemic I decided that I was going to come out of lock down with a new skill set. I’m so glad that I invested that time into myself because now I can make music when I want to and release it on my own terms. I’m about to drop my next song in a few weeks so please stay tuned!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are lots of places to go in the Central Florida area. From breweries to wineries, amusements parks, malls. It depends on what you’re into. Since, I’d probably be somewhere doing the entertaining, it’s hard to just say one place. But, If I had too my favorite weekend hangout would be Sunday Brunch in Thornton Park.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are many friends and family members who have been extremely important on this journey. However, my Mom has never wavered in her love and support for me. She continues to inspire me and keeps me going everyday. I’d like to dedicate this to her.
