Meet Lindsy and Andrew Haworth: Random Acts Community Founders

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsy and Andrew Haworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lindsy and Andrew, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Living in Atlanta, GA with our two girls, our lives were wrapped up in the daily grind moving from school to work and all the many activities.
When COVID-19 put everything on hold, our lives quickly slowed down. Immediately, we saw the impact this had on our friends and local community. But in the midst of the uncertainty, there was still a desire and need to help and connect.
We believe that by fostering this need, we can create a community that encourages everyone to help their local neighborhoods by spreading kindness to someone in need of a smile.

What should our readers know about your business?
Random Acts Community is working to create a community of kindness. Through crowdfunding, we are able to purchase gift cards from local businesses and then send those gift cards to randomly selected recipients around Atlanta in the hopes of spreading kindness.
We are excited to collaborate with local businesses and highlight the great work they are doing during these challenging times. We are also very proud of all the ways our local community is stepping up and paying it forward.
One of the challenges of starting your own business is brand awareness. Our hope is that by collaborating more with local businesses we will increase our reach and raise awareness about our cause.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
With the work we have been doing with local businesses, we are excited about all the great gems we have discovered.
To introduce our friend to the city, we would start our day with a latte and doughnut from Revolution Doughnuts. From there, we would make our way through the amazing architecture of Inman Park towards the Beltline where we would grab a delicious cold cocktail from Hawkers and then onto explore Ponce City Market with a stop at Rhen’s Nest Toy Shop for the kiddos.
No Atlanta experience is complete without a dinner at Gunshow followed by cocktails at the Clermont, either the Rooftop or the Lounge, depending on your mood.
Highlights of the week would include additional culinary delights from White Bull in Decatur, Poor Hendrix in East Lake, and Le Petite Marche in Kirkwood. Stops would include Monday Night Brewery, Piedmont Park and attending whatever neighborhood festival might be happening that weekend.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We want to extend a big shoutout to our local community of friends, family and followers. We knew it was strong but we have been blown away by their generosity and willingness to spread kindness.
