We had the good fortune of connecting with Lindsey Ngo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lindsey, how do you think about risk?
I think with anything in life (personal or business), you have to take risks. I truly believe in “no risks, no reward”! For me in my business, I took a huge risk 3 years ago to quit my day job and pursue being an entrepreneur full time. I did not take that risk without weighing out the pros and cons, but ultimately I decided to take a leap of faith. I can stand proud knowing that even if I fail, at least I tried. If you don’t try, you will always wonder what if – “chase your dreams, they won’t come to you.”

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being an entrepreneur is one of the toughest jobs. You are your own boss, which means you set the rules. This is a challenge in itself because you have to work 100x harder than you’ve ever before. Personally, I set “business” hours to stay focused and whenever I feel “stuck” or in a creative rut – I go outside and sit on my swing chair or for a walk with my dog. For me, in my personal life, I’m a huge goofball that just wants to make people laugh and be happy. On my social media, I am very transparent with who I am. I am a firm believer of staying true to who you are in your business. I’ve learned that you cannot waver to trends or what others are doing. In doing so, you will lose focus on your goals very easily. Comparing yourself to others will be one of the downfalls in your life/business. Find what makes you, YOU and run with it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well the first place I would take them is my infamous patio aka my greenhouse filled with all of my beautiful plants. Sitting on my swing chair is the most relaxing thing you can do. My go to place to eat is Korean BBQ. So many side dishes to eat and a fun environment to drink with friends! My favorite place to bring tourists/friends is the belt line. Renting scooters and riding around the belt line is the best way to capture Atlanta!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m a true believer in faith and that God has a plan for us all. I’m so thankful for everything in my life that God has blessed me with. Of course I would not be where I am today without the unwavering support of my mother. She is my idol, my go-to, & my #1 supporter. And for that, I owe her everything. As far as business, I want to shout out to my dear friend Thao, from Crafts by Thaowie, for encouraging me to pursue calligraphy. Calligraphy by Lindsey would not exist if it wasn’t for her pushing me to start a new hobby. I cannot forget to thank my followers – ya’ll are the reason why I am continually inspired everyday to creative and design products. Without your love and support, Calligraphy by Lindsey would not be what it is today & I will be forever grateful.
