We had the good fortune of connecting with Lesly Devoliere Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lesly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I felt I wasn’t being valued at my previous companies with being furloughed at one, and having to take a pay cut at my new one. I knew I had skills and personality that connected with people I worked with, and decided to create my own practice to where I can reach more people and provide my value directly without taking a pay cut or losing my job.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Most proud/excited about
–> I’m excited to help our dream customers receive the results they deserve, and giving back to my community.
How did I get where I am today business-wise? Was it easy?
–> I sought out advice from my mentors about entrepreneurship in the physical therapy field before even starting. I learned some basics in regards to business and setting up things from a legal standpoint. Also, consulting with PT Biz a cash-based physical therapy business coaching company to see if my idea would work and guided steps to see success. The process is not easy, and still not easy. You only fail in business if you quit, and early on it’s so easy to quit because entrepreneurship is a marathon. Therefore, you are not going to see those big financial gains early on and may not make any profit for months, but that’s where working on your mental strength is vital to keep going.
Also, I had to change my business model because my initial target audience were not the people I enjoy working with, and learned quickly that can make you unhappy as an entrepreneur even though there are great opportunities to make money from that audience. So, that process has not been easy to switch because it’s like a restart to your business. Someone told me when you fail, you get to start over from experience and not necessarily from scratch.
I started my business in September 2020, and the way I’m overcoming my challenges is by keep going and not quitting. I strategize, go, learn, adjust, and execute. Repeat that process.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
