We had the good fortune of connecting with Leslie Valentine and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leslie, what do you attribute your success to?
We represent compassion. We represent love. We are L&M Valentine Foundation. Our journey is about people in the community. L&M Valentine Foundation has built a platform around healing and caring. We believe in highlighting mental and emotional health awareness for underserved communities throughout the country. We believe in taking action with urgency in order to raise public awareness about some of the most pressing mental health issues facing today’s community members. We advocate that education, awareness and intervention is critical and always relevant. We are a non-profit with a commitment to people and we need people to make it happen.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It’s more than a non-profit. It’s a village of people helping others. L&M Valentine Foundation is truly dedicated to bringing important information forward. I formed my non-profit over a year ago with the vision to give a voice to those who deserve hope and healing. I have been blessed with a committed board of directors and community partners who truly understand the importance of serving those who need support. We see ourselves as beacons of information for the general at large. I am both grateful and proud of the success of the L&M Valentine Foundation in 2021 and we have more to come. This year we hosted a virtual 5K to highlight suicide awareness. Community members from all over the country walked and ran with a purpose. We want everyone to know that we see and hear them with no exception. We promote love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown Atlanta is always a fan favorite! There is so much to see and experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people who deserve a shoutout. It’s really hard to pinpoint but I want to spotlight my brother, Jerome Valentine. He is supportive of our overall mission. I would like to thank him for his love and support. Lillian (my daughter) and I truly adore him.
