We had the good fortune of connecting with LeRone “Roc” Gray and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LeRone “Roc”, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The intent was to strive to strengthen each individual’s daily habits to perform better in life to ultimately “Grow in Greatness!” I came from an upbringing that challenged me to do one of two things: crumble under the circumstances or Go Harder to create change. That is where the idea of Go Hard Performance Systems originated. As a former athlete I know this process all too well and wanted to apply it to my gifts of helping others achieve whatever they desired from the human performance side of things; no matter the goal the mentality is what had to change in order to accomplish it. That is the very essence of “Grow in Greatness” to sacrifice who you are for who you want to become.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Performance Systems is a strength and performance brand focused on helping individuals strengthen their daily habits to help them perform better in life. We consider this process our journey to “Grow in Greatness!” To date Go Hard Performance Systems has helped over 30 athletes develop their strength, speed, agility, power, balance, coordination, and conditioning to raise their athleticism to new heights. On the flip side of that we have assisted over 20 individuals lose on average 12-20 pounds within a 60-90 day period. Helping individuals improve their quality of life goes beyond running a 4.3 second 40-yard dash or gaining a 6-pack; it is helping people move pain free, enjoy activities with their children, and feel great about themselves! We offer these life changing experiences through in-person, small group and remote coaching options catered to the individual.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Kevin Hunter, my high school strength and conditioning coach is the reason I wanted to be in this field. I’m not sure he knows it but the teaching, passion and mindset he exemplified back then is a root for my brand and growth today! I also have to give my brother Timone Brown credit because even when I didn’t see it or believe in myself, he ALWAYS supported me. He made sure I knew I had everything in me to accomplish the success I have in my business today. Lastly but certainly not least I have to thank my wife Ashley Rainey-Gray who has to put up with my work-a-holic ways and molded me into the man I am today. She is always supportive with my ideas, my crazy schedule and assuring that I practice the very things that I teach on a daily basis. She is the fire that keeps this business thriving as I do it all to provide a greater life for us than we both experienced growing up.
