We had the good fortune of connecting with Lerielle Cole Pierre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lerielle, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
That money is never the goal – freedom, ownership & impact are.

Success doesn’t (or shouldn’t) mean the amount of money in your account, but rather how happy and fulfilled you are in what you’re doing. It’s the freedom of your time & resources, ownership over your gifts and abilities, and most importantly, the impact you make on people’s lives.

We have all been given a gift (our purpose) and it’s on us to answer God’s call and share those gifts to help to positively impact those around us.

For me, I realised I had a natural gift (and calling) for Marketing, Branding & Events..to connect with people in a meaningful and authentic way..to give them an outlet to share their stories..so I couldn’t just let those go to waste.

Gifts are meant to shared so I answered God’s call to share my gifts and impact people’s lives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a seasoned Marketing & Brand Strategist and Certified Event Planner with 15+ years of international experience in The Bahamas, Canada and The English-speaking Caribbean. Well equipped with a plethora of skills in Marketing, Branding, Event Planning, Business Development, Digital Advertising & Retail.

I’ve always been creative and always loved details & organisation, so it’s no surprise I’m a planner and strategist by profession.

I think what sets me apart is the creativity and flare I bring to everything I do. My personality & life experiences have really poured into my style, strategies and overall spirit of excellence.

About My Journey:

I was born in the beautiful twin isle of Trinidad & Tobago. At the age of 4, I moved to The Bahamas, where I grew up and graduated high school in Nassau.

I then went on the pursue my Honours BA in Business Economics & Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada.

I’ve always loved the details, so it’s no surprise that my career started with just that. At the tender age of 22, I launched my very own fashion business called Final Accents Boutiq (FAB) – a trendsetting, fashion-forward accessories boutique in Nassau, Bahamas. Being the chief creative at Final Accents, I perfected my natural eye for detail and developed a revolutionary knack for ingenious marketing, conceptual events, and stellar customer experiences. This birthed my love for all things marketing, events & branding and I wanted more.

And so, in 2012, I ventured back “home” to Trinidad, where I went on to coordinate events at Lonsdale Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising, a leading advertising agency in Trinidad & Tobago. Following my tenure at Lonsdale, I moved into Digital Advertising & Marketing at Caribbean Ideas Ltd. and J&K Signature Styles respectively.

I then went on to lead the Marketing Department for CaribbeanJobs.com, the Caribbean’s top online recruitment platform in Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados.

After 10 years of consistently leading brands to success, I decided to return full-circle into entrepreneurship, launching my personal brand – Lerielle Cole Pierre (LCP) in 2021 and F.A.B. Marketing & Branding Agency in 2022.

Has it been easy? No. I’ve been stretched, I’ve been rejected, I’ve been brought to my knees to Ground Zero..but I think the most fulfilling part of the journey is knowing that I’m not doing this for me. I’ve been blessed with gifts that allow people to share their stories and build brands and businesses others love. My purpose is serving others and impacting lives, so I know I just can’t stop.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned (and live by) is that you do it with a pure heart and the RIGHT success will come. Don’t be guided by money and accolades, but instead by the true impact you can impart to positively change this world. Reach one, teach one.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Now I’m a quintessential Caribbean girl at heart who loves a good lime (party), a good beach & a good cocktail! So everything we do will be centered around those things.

Food, Culture & Carnival are HUGE celebrations here in Trinidad, so the week would consist of lots of local foods (doubles, roti, bake & shark) lots of fetes (parties) and lotsss of soca music so we dance, let go of all inhibitions and experience life-altering freedom, love, community and fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God first, as it is through Him and because of Him I am who I am and where I am.

My mom secondly, for ALWAYS supporting me through everything that I’ve ever wanted to do.

My husband for being my partner on this journey.

And my business coach turned dear friend Sumer Edwards Williams for being instrumental in me exploring this journey [back] to entrepreneurship.
