Hi Legendary Tax Pro Talisha, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Networking was one of the most important steps I took to ensure success as not only a tax professional, but entrepreneur in general. By building relationships with a diverse group of people and companies, I was able to gain access to projects and resources I otherwise wouldn’t have. Every week, I attend networking events, set up coffee meetings, and join networking groups to build a fruitful network. This enabled me to connect with potential clients and develop long-term relationships with valuable partners and associates.

Moreover, networking provides an opportunity to market my services directly to individuals and companies who may have a need for my services. I have found great success in following up with people on specific projects that they have expressed interest in, or introducing them to partners or general resources that could help move their projects forward. Without regular networking, I wouldn’t have been able to leverage those relationships in ways that have contributed significantly to my success as an entrepreneur.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Founding Partner and Chief of Marketing and Branding for a Tax Preparation business called Legendary Tax. We offer a variety of services including tax preparation, tax software, tax training, tax mentorship and extraordinary support. We help tax agents and bureaus build and grow their audience, train, create meaningful relationships with their customers, and promote their tax services. As Chief of Marketing & Branding, my goal is to help our tax partners succeed by providing them with strategies tailored to their individual needs in order to grow their reach, sales, and brand recognition.

What sets us apart from others is our focus on customer service and individual agent/bureau attention. It takes a large team of dedicated people to do this, and we have that. We strive to build relationships with our partners and clients by providing them with the best possible advice and recommendations based on their needs. We are proud of the fact that we have achieved successful results for our clients, growing their business, through training and by helping them reach their goals in a timely manner.

I got here by taking a lot of risks. I started my business with a few hundred dollars and no prior experience. I spent hours networking, attending events and conferences, and developing relationships with other entrepreneurs in the same space. I’ve definitely had challenges along the way, Im a single mom of 5 beautiful girls. I overcame those challenges by being consistent and focusing only on the good people around me. No room for negativity nor attention for the unsupportive at all. Through hard work and a positive attitude, I was able to push through the challenges and come out on the other side.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are that it’s important to stay true to yourself, to stay focused on your goals and keep working hard. I’ve also learned that it’s important to have mentors and people you can lean on for support and advice.

What I want the world to know? That is an excellent question! I want the world to know that I am passionate about what I do and that I am dedicated to helping entrepreneurs reach their goals and become a financial beacon for their families. Also, I would like the world to know that I run several other businesses most of which are listed on my website talishahampton.co and I believe that with dedication and hard work, anyone can achieve their dreams and that nothing is impossible. I believe a true boss puts money and opportunity in the hands of those seeking. My story and opportunities on my website is simply a testament to that. I am truly forever becoming a new and better version of myself, definitely stay tuned.

Having a team of individuals that you can trust is a rare find to a young entrepreneur, and that is why my Legendary Tax team deserves this space for recognition. The support they show has been incredible—always being willing to go above and beyond to add value. Whether it’s providing support with a project or just being there thru challenges most women in business face, the Legendary Tax team has been reliable and trustworthy.

The level of love and encouragement they have given me has been breathtaking. From the experienced veterans and co founders to the motivated newcomers, they have all been instrumental in the success of my business. Therefore, I would like to recognize the Legendary Tax team. They have been by my side when I have felt my most alone, and without them I couldn’t have achieved the success that I have. Their achievements should forever be celebrated and recognized.
