We had the good fortune of connecting with Lebo Lukewarm and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lebo, what are you inspired by?
I am inspired by what others would deem the mundane, if you can find the sparkle in everyday situations you will never run out of new ideas.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My art is always created from a place of love and that encompasses the good and the bad of love, I often find myself explaining the bad of love concept… heartbreak and pain are both understood because we have experienced joy and security. I try express that dichotomy through the works that I put out. I am probably most proud of my never bending spirit, that allows me to see the silver lining in every situation.

Trying to identify a linear path that brought me here would be impossible, I think the many different routes that I’ve explored from travelling around the world to getting involved in an array of different ventures, in the pursuit of trying to broaden my perspective ( a feat that is never ending) have made me who I am today. I found myself becoming a sponge, always wanting to document, process and then create how that particular experience made me feel in either a still image, a film or a song.

One of the fundamental lessons I have learned along the way is: Offence is TAKEN, so once you decide not to take it personal you will achieve a lot more in a work place environment. Build a team, share a dream and that will make light of heavy work.

I want everyone reading this to know that, we all have a story to tell and I would like to help you tell yours.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is an interesting one, given the fact that I just recently moved to Atlanta, so I’m just as excited as my best friend to discover what Atlanta has to offer… however in my short time here, I have found some gems. – I would take them to this really great restaurant in Buckhead called Gypsy King, the food was incredible, tapas style.
– I love making cocktails so we are definitely drinking at my place for that.
– I love nature so we have to go out to Chattahoochee for a forest bath (not to be taken in the literal sense of the word lol) a definite must do if you want Hard Reset of your mind.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to start by thanking God, I know this is not like an awards ceremony but I want to make sure that all protocols have been observed, then I want to thank the amazing women in my corner, my wife who has been an absolute pillar and my true North, an incredible force and my late mother who is a constant reminder that we would be soulless without the strong women in our lives. I would be remissed if I did not make mention of my father who made sure the dream was kept alive by never giving up on me.
