We had the good fortune of connecting with Leah Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Leah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was to be able to inspire, and impact others all around the world. To be able to create generational wealth, help the community and empower other women through fashion! Not only to help empower others but to inspire them to achieve their own goals and dreams.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets us apart from other brands is that we provide our customers with a style that compliments them. Our mission is to make our customers feel confident and comfortable in what they wear, and being able to wear what they want without judgment, whether their outfit is modest or more revealing. Our brands goal is to be inclusive of women of all body types, and to make every woman feel like they are beautiful no matter what size or shape they are. I am most proud of myself for being only 20yrs old and running my own business. I applaud myself for being consistent, and fully committed to my goals and dreams.
I got to where I am today by being consistent and working hard. It definitely hasn’t been an easy journey being an entrepreneur takes a lot of hard work, sacrifice, persistence, resiliency and self motivation. I’ve stayed up late nights with little to no sleep just learning, working and implementing everything I’ve learned.
My biggest challenge has been balancing running my business and also struggling with my mental health. Mindset is everything in business! I’ve been learning to overcome it by giving my self breaks and taking self care days.
The lessons I’ve learned along the way is how to be patient, hard work always outweighs talent, and to always learn from your mistakes. Failure is just an opportunity to do better and grow.
I want the world to know that at one point in my life I had really lost myself due to depression. I got so tired of always feeling low of myself so I decided to look deep within myself, and question myself why I am the way I am? What is even my purpose here? What has God called me to do? That’s when I snapped and told myself this is not the life I want to live I had to do something to gain my power back. God has much greater plans for me and wants so much more from me. At that point I had realized that I had patterns to unlearn, trauma to heal, and generational curses that need to be broken. Accepting that I am the chosen one wasn’t easy at first but I knew ever since I was little that I am destined for much greater things in life. That’s when I began my self discovery journey, and tapped more into my spiritual side. Having my spiritual awakening was really a wake up call for me I’ve learned so much, and everyday I strive to be a better version of myself. Although it hasn’t been an easy journey it gets hard sometimes but with my ability to bounce back from life’s hardest hits, having resiliency is what has kept me going, and to never give up. Being in a dark place can be really hard to push yourself out of sometimes but I am living proof that the dark days don’t last forever! Which led me to starting my own business and following my goals, and dreams. I am unstoppable when it comes to my dreams can’t anyone or anything stop me but death itself. I hope that my story can help others around the world. If you struggle with mental health you have all of my support! I want to be able to continue to inspire, and help everyone I can. To be able to show others that anything is possible, and if you have a dream go for it and don’t let anything hold you back!

Fashion has a major impact on our moods and how we feel about ourselves, and our confidence. Every woman has the right to express themselves and be free in all aspects.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here in San Antonio Texas we have the river walk downtown. Explore historical sites, and have nice lunch/dinner on the river walk. Meet new people, we have a shopping mall down here as well on the river and can even have a boat ride on the river walk! My favorite place to eat downtown would be rainforest cafe! The food is delicious and exceptional customer service there! We also have a zoo here and a Japanese Tea Garden it’s a beautiful place to explore and take pictures as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A big shoutout to the famous 50 cent (aka) Curtis Jackson! After reading his book “Hustle harder, hustle smarter” he truly is a big inspiration to me. After reading about his success story it motivated me to want to chase and follow my own dreams. If you can dream it then you can achieve it!
