We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Sanders and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my matchmaking agency, The Love Crush Agency, in order to provide equal opportunities for minorities in the matchmaking industry. Minorities are underrepresented in the matchmaking industry overall, so one of the primary focuses with starting my matchmaking agency is to help assist more minorities on their quest for love. In my experience as a professional matchmaker, I have witnessed the overall limited options present for minority clients within the matchmaking world. Therefore, one of the main focuses with The Love Crush Agency is to bridge the gap. Of course, we provide services to individuals of all races and ethnic backgrounds, however we wanted to ensure the minority population has an equal and fair chance to find love by increasing representation.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My matchmaking business is an equal opportunity agency providing a fair chance for individuals from all backgrounds to find love. I started The Love Crush Agency with a goal in mind of equality. I witnessed the disparity present within the matchmaking industry, and the differences in available candidates for people of color. While we help individuals from all races, ethnicities, and nationalities, we also aim to help all humans no matter the color of their skin.

What sets The Love Crush Agency apart from others is the extensive history we possess with providing genuine care and concern for all people. With both extensive professional experience in the matchmaking industry and healthcare industry, we combine our love for helping others in more ways than one. In addition, our founder (me), has interviewed thousands of singles across America and collected data regarding the modern dating trends. So, in other words, we have mastered the art of compatibility. We are also comprised of experienced certified dating coaches and published authors with numerous self-help books on love and relationships. In addition, we are contributing writers for the WikiHow relationship column and for datingadvice.com as well.

The journey to becoming a professional matchmaker has not been easy, but we have persevered. We have overcome adversity by standing strong on our moral beliefs and placing our faith in God.

Lessons we have learned along the way include being consistent, never giving up hope, and always leaving the door open to learn from others’ experiences and knowledge of the industry.

I want the world to know that my brand is one that is non-discriminatory, moral and honest, and genuinely desires to help individuals find love. We are not just matchmakers. We are mission-based and aim to connect as many people as possible to their life partners.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would take them to Ponce City Market to hang out on the rooftop for some fun and good food. I would then invite them to join me from a tubing adventure up in Helen, GA at Cool River tubing for an afternoon or day of fun. Lastly, if they are active, I would invite them for a challenging hike at Stone Mountain in Stone Mountain, GA in the wee hours of the morning (following our day trip to Helen, GA). And of course, we’d have to stop by the Yard Milkshake Bar at some point during their visit. There are so many wonderful things to do in ATL and surrounding areas!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My son deserves a special shout out. He has inspired me to be the best version of myself possible for him. Being a parent is not always a walk in park, however it is well worth it. To help nurture, raise, and provide unconditional love for another human being is an honor of a lifetime. He inspires me to live life fully, responsibly, and lovingly. He has brought out of me a level of strength that I didn’t know existed. He’s also inspired me to fight for what I believe in, and to stand strong no matter what the rest of the world thinks or what their opinions may be. He has inspired me to listen to my heart, God, and that inner still voice instructing me to make the best decisions possible for me and him.
