We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I created The Gold Bean Coffee to introduce specialty coffees to people that love coffee, who have never experienced a farm to cup coffee experience!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Gold Bean started as a pop up coffee stand in 2020 in Charlotte, North Carolina! We proudly brew coffee to order, and provide bags of coffee for those who like to brew at home! Our purpose is to redefine convenience and deliver a farm to cup experience for the coffee community.

Our specialty coffee is grown in El Salvador and imported and roasted by Jags Head Coffee in Charlotte, North Carolina. We offer shipping, pop up events, and catering. We have done events in Florida, North Carolina, and recently moved to Bradford, Pennsylvania.

We have overcome not having the fanciest store or truck by building a table from scratch and bring coffee to communities in different areas! We have learned that having a good coffee business does not mean spending too much of large equipment but being able to get creative and do what’s not being done now!

We want the world to try coffees from all over the world and support local roasters and the farmers in the coffee community!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love trying new food drinks and visiting food trucks of all kinds! I always search on google and social media to get a feel for what the business has and then usually like to try what I can!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
