We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Marturano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, what do you attribute your success to?
Nothing happens in a silo.
My career successes have been made possible by the incredible mentors and advocates that I have gained along the way. I am a strong believer that you can learn something from every person that you meet, and as such, my success has been largely driven by the power of my community.
Knowing that the catalyst to my personal success has been community, we built Zinnia on the conviction that there is power behind every human connection. Every person and every team can improve by cresting a community that surrounds and supports one another, ultimately pushing individuals to reach their full potential.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The future of work is remote, but teams still need to come together in person to collaborate and build trust through connection. The problem is, getting people together is hard. Whether it’s an entirely distributed team coming together for a 400 person sales kickoff, or an intimate client dinner in a private dining space, the details and logistics are time consuming and difficult to manage.
Zinnia enables teams to come together, easily and impactfully, in just a matter of clicks. I am incredibly proud of the unique and memorable experiences we have curated, but even prouder of the connections and culture building that have happened for our clients along the way.
We are passionate about building community, and it turns out, so are most companies. This has blossomed into incredible early demand and long-term partnerships.
The entrepreneurial journey has come with its own set of challenges – largely in part to the current economic climate. We are lucky to have early traction and incredible investors in Atlanta Ventures backing us.
Over the last year, the number one lesson I have learned is that everyone is just faking it til we make it. There is so much in this world we don’t know, but I am positively overwhelmed with mentors and advisors that are here to help every step of the way.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is a gem. I will say, there is nothing better than a Saturday morning stroll down the beltline, picking up coffee from Krog Street Market and walking to the farmer’s market at Piedmont Park.
There is no shortage of amazing restaurants, some of my favorites include Delbar, St. Cecilia, Lucian Books and Wine, and Canoe!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Atlanta Ventures has been the bear hug around Zinnia since the beginning! Their team has supported and advised as we have gotten market feedback, built product, and launched!
