We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Cousin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Overtime my work life balance has shifted drastically. I often found myself only focusing on my business and college. This caused me to have burnout and have zero focus on my own self care. Hitting rock bottom and running on fumes caused me to reevaluate my priorities. Simply because if I’m not taking care of myself I can’t show up as my best self for myself. I started implementing time for me to recharge, such as alone time. The best ways that I’ve created balance in my life is by reading and working out.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am most proud of my resilience and bravery during my business and content creation journey. Honestly people don’t talk about the difficulties that both can bring. Every time that I’ve gotten knocked down, with time I always had a new plan. I also recognized when I needed to step back to reevaluate. Overtime what I’ve learned that I’m not alone, I can ask for help. I’ve learned that handling everything alone isn’t always the best thing. Running my issues through someone who has already been through something similar can be eye opening. Overall I want the world to know that my beauty brand is a space for people to enjoy eczema friendly beauty products while enjoying all the luxuries. My wellness brand is content creation based is a space for people to escape from hustle culture!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a loving shoutout to my mom! She has always given me kind words about my creations. The words that she’s given have a heavy influence on me, she just knows exactly what to say. Regardless if it’s to pull me out of my own head or to push me further then I thought possible. The encouragement has given me hope and motivation through my journey. My mom is truly a light to me!
