We had the good fortune of connecting with La’Toyia Neal and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi La’Toyia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My though behind starting my Mental Health Company, is having the drive and determination to provide quality mental health services. It is very important to me to educated clients and my followers on the importance of protecting and bettering your mental health. So many people suffer in silence, I am hoping to bridge that gap and make individuals feel comfortable about receiving services and ultimately not feel alone.
What should our readers know about your business?
My Business is Gentle Care Behavioral Health. GCBH is a virtual mental health company meaning me provide services from the comfort of our clients home. What sets me apart from other Companies is me dedication to my clients. At Gentle Care Behavioral Health I pride myself of the quality care that I provide. My goal is education my clients, but also help them achieve their mental health goals. As a Business Owner, I am most proud of the fears I overcame to start me company. Lets face it, honestly I never strived to be an Entrepreneur, but it wasn’t until I began working in a toxic enviroment I decided to go into business for myself and for my clients.
Of course, starting a business isn’t easy, and I have to change my entire mindset from an employee to an employer. I still have daily challenges and find myself learning along the way.
I want to world to know that is ok to suffer my mental challenges, and it ok to ask for help. Lets break the stigmatization surrounding mental health
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It I had a friend visiting, we would visit Midtown for drinks and food, maybe go to a couple of lounges in Downtown Atlanta for food. We would visit Stone Mountain or Sweet Water Creek for hiking. We could go to Braves or Hawk games for fun.
There is so much do in Atlanta it’s hard to pick one thing, but me, I find the most fun hanging out with my friends and acting like big kids again at places such as Top Golf or Putt Putt Shack
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to Thank my Husband Christopher Neal, for believing in my and pushing me through all my doubt and insecurities during this process. It hasn’t been easy but he has been there every step of the way.
