We had the good fortune of connecting with Latonya Hopkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latonya, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
That no matter what to keep going!

There will be days you make $100 and days where you make non but, through it all continue to market your business, stay focused & most important stay consistent.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am where I am today because of God! Nothing and no one could have gotten me where I’m at today besides him! Not even me!

No it was not easy as a matter fact it was hard as hell. Not knowing how or where to start, looking at my fellow interior designers work not knowing if I was good enough or even worthy of.

I over came the challenges by believing in myself honestly knowing that if they can do it so can I.

What I’ve learned along the way is simple: Keep your eyes on your own paper and to never ever look at anyone else’s!

I would like the world to know that I am a little black girl from the hood with dreams and a lot of ambition and a hustle guaranteed to make it to the top! With dedication determination perseverance hard work and God I will one day be the biggest Interior stylist in the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m really a home body these days and im fairly new to Atlanta. Focusing on my business I haven’t been able to get out much. However I do have this lounge spot anytime someone comes to visit I take them to called Fin & Feathers omg the vibe is like no other and the food is amazing. I recently visited this restaurant called Traffik Kitchen & Cocktails where the food and drinks was amazingly good and the show the gays put on was even better definitely on my agenda to attend again.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to God for believing in me when I don’t even believe in myself!

My kids who are the most important people to me. Jahzahria, Taniyah, Tonaeh, Toni, Antonio, Tonio & Demetrius you all are my reasons. My reasons to live, to laugh, to love, to try, to trust, to dream, to prosper, to keep going and not give up!

To my bestfriend Tasha who has been there with me through it all; business endeavors, failed relationships, hardships good and bad you have been there every step of the way! My mom, step dad & sisters Latasha, Latoya, Ashley & Courtney for believing and pushing me.
