We had the good fortune of connecting with Latisha Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Latisha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel like risk are so important because taking risk builds character and perseverance. I believe that there is so much reward in risk taking. For me personally I live for the moments where I have an opportunity to take risk because I always come out with something whether intentional or not. I remember growing up and being afraid of failing or giving up on things that I thought were too hard for me. It wasn’t until my adult years that I realized my fear was holding me back from a lot of things I wanted to do, Including social media. I remember uploading my first youtube video as a content creator and looking through the comment section for negative feedback and hurtful comments. I was surprised when I received lots of great comments and inspiration. I remember feeling so happy and overwhelmed that all I wanted to do was record and upload the next video. I say this to say take that risk don’t let fear or doubt hold you back another second. There is reward in risk taking.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art lies in generating videos that are engaging, informative, and tailored to the needs of my viewers. Much like a traditional artist, I strive to film pieces that evoke emotions, spark curiosity, and convey information effectively. My “canvas” is the digital space, and my “paint” is my journey and life experiences.
I aim to create content that resonates with individuals, whether it’s through storytelling, providing insights, offering advice, or simply engaging in conversation. I think ultimately that’s what sets me apart from other creators. Each interaction is an opportunity to blend creativity with functionality, delivering value in the form of information, entertainment, or both. I take pride in the ability to do that without having to make adjustments on my appearance or personality.
It has been quite the journey for me and i’m still learning how to take in every accomplishment big or small. I’m still learning how to be happy and fruitful in where I am today knowing that there is more to come. Today professionally i’m in a good space knowing that I have the ability and a safe place to grow in my art. It is no mistake that i’ve made it this far because I put in the work every single day no matter what. The hardest part of it all is staying the course. it’s performing without the energy. It’s publishing content that no one may see. It’s taking a week to edit a 60 second video. Its hearing yourself talk about your life and wondering if you’ve said too much. One thing I learned along the way is that no matter what you keep going. you give yourself grace and you be gentle with yourself.
I want the world to know that I was born into a space where I wasnt suppose to thrive. I was raised in an environment that did not cater to my dreams and aspirations as a child. I was born into an environment that wanted me to grow up when my focus should have been to be a child. I wasn’t supposed to succeed according to society. But god reminded me everyday that the vision he gave me as a child will not die and it is my calling to share that vision in a way that resonates with other little girls and boys who are just like me. I want the world to know that I showed up for myself. when you see a youtube video just know that was me showing up for myself. its beauty and art in your own life. No matter what, you gotta paint that picture because through the blurred lines is your future.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is new for me! I’ve been living here for less than a year. however in my short time of being here i’ve fell in love with some places along the way, one of my most favorite places to go is The James Room. if you’re into the speakeasy vibes this is the place. The drinks are beautifully crafted and the taste is amazing. The food is full of flavor. my favorite thing about the james room is the ambiance it’s such a low light setting. it gives grown and sexy everytime!
I would recommend checking out the hyatt centric in buckhead. Every wednesday night if you’re single and ready to mingle. you will find a lot of young professionals there who have a sense of fashion just looking to have a good time and network.
Here is a list of some of my favorite places to eat.
JJ fish and chicken
JINYA Ramen Bar
JR Crickets
Snooze
Breakfast at Barneys

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m giving a shout out to all content creators big or small. Thank you for challenging me, inspiring me , and creating a platform and opportunity for me to join in. Thank you for welcoming me into such a creative space.
Of course I cannot leave out my family and friends and just true supporters. Thank you for every like, comment or view. Thank you for cheering me on when I have no strength to cheer me on. Thank you for your consistency and time. None of this is possible without any of you guys!
