We had the good fortune of connecting with Latia Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latia, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
The most important lesson I’ve learn is the value of baby steps. Sometimes we feel like we need to make these big leaps. If you keep your eyes forward and just keep making baby steps, one day you’ll look backwards and realize the number of leaps you’ve made.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The thing that set me apart is that I like to really get to know my clients. Not just to build a relationship with them, but also in order to tell their story the way they want it told. Everybody’s life experiences aren’t the same, so everyone’s story should be different.

I made it to where I am today with the grace of God, the help of my ancestors, the support of my loving wife, guidance from the world’s greatest mentor and encouragement from a host of friends and family. It wasn’t easy and everyday has not been sunny. I’ve overcome challenges that I’ve faced by staying focused on the end goal.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta is the greatest city in the world to me. There is always something to do. If I had a friend visiting Atlanta, Georgia the weekend would look something like this:

Friday: Drinks at the bar located in the W and then a night out at My Sisters Room.

Saturday: One of the many festivals that Atlanta has which would be either the Wine festival, Beer and Bourbon festival or jazz festival just to name a few.

Sunday: I couldn’t end the week without taking my friend to Piedmont Park on Sunday to just absorb some vitamin D and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Toni Shaw with Shaw Photography Group based in Greensboro, NC. She is my mentor and friend. She pushes me to be my best. Also to my wife, who thought me how to see the beautiful in all things.
