We had the good fortune of connecting with Latasha McCorry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Latasha, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My FAVORITE quote is: “It’s not HARD, It’s just NEW. What I mean by that is

That feeling you have when you start something new is supposed to feel unfamiliar in the present, but it’s not hard, it’s just new.

HOWEVER, with time and practice, you will master anything you put your mind to. Choose to be patient and kind to yourself throughout the process because anything that is worth having is worth working hard for. Each step you take in the process will bring you closer to success if you make it up in your mind that you will not stop regardless of what obstacles you face.

What should our readers know about your business?
I noticed how difficult it was for the clients I assisted to get started and maintain their own businesses. Many new entrepreneurs, especially truck drivers, lacked education on topics such as the importance of properly starting their business (obtaining their LLC), managing their operating authority, (which is needed to operate on the US highways) and staying in compliance with the FMCSA.

Armed with the knowledge I had gained at a major logistics company after much preparation, and surrounding myself with those who were already in the trucking industry in August 2022, I took a leap of faith and launched my own company, LeniMaxx Logistics LLC which is named after my son. My goal is to assist aspiring business owners by educating them on the legal and regulatory steps to getting established. I guide people through getting their LLC, EIN, operating authority, finding insurance, and setting up compliant processes.

I also provide coaching to help new owner-operators understand what it takes to run a successful transportation company. It was a risk leaving my corporate job, but I find fulfillment in empowering uninformed entrepreneurs to turn their dreams into reality. I’m proud to have taken my passion and knowledge to start a business focused on assisting others.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh goodness being here for only 3 years I have a few spots that I absolutely love in the city. So, if my girls came into town first and foremost, I’m a country girl at heart so I have to include one of my own meals in this equation LOL. I would most definitely take them over to a place called Ponce City Market. I absolutely love the area; the vibes and I think they would enjoy the scenery and the many of food and drink places they have to offer. If they wanted to have a girl’s night out with something I think they may or may not have tried there is this place that I love called PASHA. They have the best lamb chops. My motto is you cannot come to the city eating in familiar places. We would also swing over to this nice spot called LOA to overlook the city, have some good drinks and catch the breeze. For brunch we would go to a placed called VICTORY. They have the best brunch ever and the atmosphere is amazing. One thing I love about ATL is that there shall be a good DJ in pretty much any place you go. This is just to name a few.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business was created because I wanted to make sure that I could be in a position to create experiences for my son that I didn’t have a chance to have growing up. Becoming a parent was the scariest most rewarding thing that I have ever done in life, so I have to dedicate this to my son. He keeps me going when I don’t have an ounce of energy to keep pushing, I’m always reminded why it’s important to keep going in spite of. And the fact that he’s growing faster than time I have to make sure that I am always in a position to win because he will by default rep the benefits of my hard work.

I also want to shoutout to my brother who passed in 2020 to gun violence. While he can’t be here to celebrate the wins with me, he is another reason I push through because I know without a shadow of a doubt that he would be my biggest cheerleader and he would be so proud of Big Sis!
