We had the good fortune of connecting with LaSonya Lucy-Paige and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaSonya, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Headline: LaSonya Lucy-Paige: Turning Purpose Into Prosperity and Empowering Others to Do the Same.

My name is LaSonya Lucy-Paige, and I’m from a small country town called Citronelle, Alabama. I now live in Mobile, AL with my husband, and together we share a beautiful blended family of five children.

Growing up in the country taught me the value of hard work, gratitude, and family. We didn’t have everything we wanted, but we always had what we needed, and more love than money could buy. My mother, the ninth of eleven children, was a single parent who worked tirelessly to provide for my brother and me. She’d come home after a long day, cook a full meal, help with homework, keep the house in order, and still make time for us. Her dedication and strength shaped my work ethic and my heart. My mother taught me resilience, integrity, and the power of giving.

Our home was filled with kindness, faith, and most importantly, love.

My grandmother often hosted big gatherings, not for show, but simply because she loved seeing people happy and feeding anyone who came through her door. That spirit of giving runs deep in me today.

Everything I do, whether it’s helping someone, feeding someone, or simply offering a listening ear, comes from a place of genuine care. My upbringing taught me that success isn’t just about what you achieve for yourself, but about how you use your blessings to uplift others. That’s the foundation of who I am and why I lead with both heart and purpose in everything I do.

What should our readers know about your business?
When I started in this industry, I had nothing but determination and a dream. Today, I own two thriving companies Fast Time Tax Consultants and Tax Wiz Pro Software. What sets me apart is that I’m not just preparing taxes, I’m building legacies. I’ve trained and mentored hundreds of tax professionals, helping them generate consistent income, structure their businesses the right way, and create the lifestyle they deserve.”
Let me be honest, It hasn’t been an easy road, I’ve faced setbacks, sleepless nights, and moments where I didn’t know how I’d make it through. But I overcame those challenges with prayer, persistence, and a commitment to never give up on myself or my vision.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success requires both mindset and strategy. You have to believe you deserve it, and then you have to do the work every single day. I also learned that surrounding yourself with the right people is crucial. The ones who challenge you, inspire you, and hold you accountable.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is this: I am living proof that you can create the life you want, no matter where you start. My mission is to help ambitious women and aspiring tax professionals turn their skills into thriving businesses that give them freedom, flexibility, and the ability to impact others. This isn’t just my job, it’s my God given purpose, and I’m just getting started.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d tell them to come during Mardi Gras season, hands down, that’s when my city is at its best. The energy, the music, the parades… it’s unlike anything else. Non stop celebrations of music, food and culture. We’d start at the parades, catching beads and everything else you can think of (LOL). There’s no telling what you may catch from the floats. We will taste food from a few of the food trucks that has traveled here for Mardi Gras. Then we will go have dinner overlooking the bay. Midweek, we’d dress up for one of the Mardi Gras balls. Glamour, music, and pure fun. We’d wrap up with Joe Cain Sunday and Skinny Monday where the city truly comes alive. Mardi Gras here isn’t just an event, it’s an experience, and by the end of the week, they’d leave with memories and exhausted in a good way.
Outside of Mardi Gras, I’m more likely to hop on a plane for entertainment, but during that season, my city can hold its own with the best of them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband and children truly deserve the biggest shoutout. They’ve been my strength through every challenge, my cheerleaders in every victory, and my constant reminder of why I push forward. Their love keeps me grounded and inspires me to keep going, no matter what. My husband encouraged me to stop holding back and to share my true self with the world. I am forever grateful for the love, guidance, and belief from the people who have poured into me. They are the reason I can stand proudly in my purpose today. This journey may have my name on it, but it’s built on the love and belief of those who never let me give up.
