We had the good fortune of connecting with LaShonda Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaShonda, what’s your definition for success?
For me success is doing something that makes me happy. If I get joy from it, and in the case of my Airbnb business, money too-that is success. Success is not competing, or comparing. Its being content with what brings me joy and doing that to the best of my ability.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of being able to obtain two investment properties. I have always had a love for real estate but being able to invest and purchase my own properties-2 in one year I feel is an accomplishment! I am not rich, I don’t strive to be rich. So I feel that my story of getting started can definitely help others who want to get started with in investing in real estate and start their own Airbnb.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta is a vibe. I think you can go almost anywhere and have a good time. I know my friends so the thing we would do is eat!! Atlanta has some really good food. Lol!! One of my some favorite places to go is Piedmont Park, Ponce City Market, the restaurants on the Beltline and Atlantic Station.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The person that deserves the most credit is my cleaner and cousin-Joseph. He cleans my Airbnbs for me. With out him I would not be successful in this business.
