We had the good fortune of connecting with Lasharn Hart and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lasharn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was to not limit myself and to be in a position to leave a legacy for my kids. I knew by being an employee that never was going to happen so I took the risk, stepped out on faith, and haven’t look back.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have been in the medical profession for over 15 years and currently work as a Respiratory Therapy Manager. Although it’s challenging at times, I’m grateful to have the opportunity to move up in my career.

Being around sickness and death working in the hospital I wanted to add some light into my world so I decided to do something that will bring joy to not only myself but other people as well. I have always been real organized and like to plan things so I decided to become a certified wedding planner. In booking weddings, I had to go through a travel agent to book honeymoons so I said why not add this service and stand out from the crowd so I became a travel business owner. Once I seen the value of selling travel, how the opportunity blessed my family financially, and how I could just work this business from my phone, I decided to share this with other people and I became a marketing rep. I also own a 360 Photo Booth business.

Although I’m busy, I love what I do. I love helping people and putting a smile on their face. I’m thankful for businesses I can work on MY terms. I don’t know how anyone can’t after tasting the level of freedom. It’s exhilarating and also incredibly motivating.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Depending on the friend, we can check out some breakfast spots like First Watch or Another Broken Egg Cafe. We can hit up the Sante Fe Spa on 280 and get a facial and massage. We can leave there and do a little shopping at the Birmingham Summit or check out the Outlet Mall in Leeds. If we go to Leeds, we will have to check out Buckees and get a Barbecue or Brisket Sandwich or if we stay on 280, we can check out The Cheesecake Factory or Seasons 52. Afterwards we can go to the Urban Parc because it’s a vibe. Good drinks and good music. Later that night we can do the Fennec for some trivia or karaoke, Wine Loft, Stardome for some laughter, The Perfect Note, or go downtown to Top Golf.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I will like to thank God first and foremost for blessing me in my businesses and my family for their support.
