We had the good fortune of connecting with Larrissa Tate and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Larrissa, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
What makes me happy? Being able to see my family happy. I’m a mother of 4. I have to make sure all of my kids are always happy and get to enjoy their childhood. It brings me so much joy seeing them smile. And my loving husband as well.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My story in art is crazy. I never liked arts and crafts when I was younger. My love for it came out of the blue and I feel like I’ve missed out on so much. I’m still growing my love for it as I come across so many different things. I started with making charm bracelets. Which I was only doing for myself until I kept getting inquiries and decided to go into business. From there I started getting asked to make Apple Watch bands. So I had to research that and after a while I stared with that. Now I’m making shattered glass mirrors DIY vases and things of that nature. What sets me apart from others is that I like to get very personal with each set I make. I like to put everything the buyer likes into what they order. I even do frames. It has been a long road getting to where I am today. I’ve had many obstacles from getting the wrong supplies to having jewelry break…there was a lot to learn. I just continue to research and get better. I’m going on my second year in business and I’m very happy with my progress!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I’m still getting used to Atlanta so I haven’t been many places yet but I have some spots on my list! Saturday: Amicalola Falls state park Sunday: Brunch at The Goodz Atl Atlanta Botanical Garden Monday: Trap Museum Cascade skating Tuesday: Stone Mountain Park Wednesday: Georgia Aquarium Thursday: Sunburst Adventures Friday: Arabia Mountain Saturday: probably eating and touring downtown. I’m sure I’d club as well during our nights.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my husband number one, my family, and my friends. Taylor who went as far as financially investing in me when I first started up. I’ll never forget that! I would also like to thank all my IG and Facebook followers who has ever made a post, repost, share or anything to support my business. Thank you.
