We had the good fortune of connecting with LaNise Thrasher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaNise, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The Love Cheerleader® was established after I went through the healing process following one of the most traumatic events of my life, divorce.

Divorce is such a taboo subject, and the only thing many people have told me is that “It does get better.” But that was the end of it! There was no strategy in place to assist me in healing and adjusting to my new normal.

So silently, I went through a massive healing process that turned out to be the best thing I could have done for myself! Many people began requesting me to assist them after I was healed, and after praying, I realized that I had a responsibility to heal others. Healed people heal people.

In my pain, I found my purpose! Since then, I’ve started The Love Cheerleader, where I teach and empower busy professionals and entrepreneurs to let go of the pain of divorce and previous relationships so they may heal, live, and, most importantly, love again!

I am so grateful for the lives that I have changed and the lives that I will impact in the future.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from the competition is that I am a Heartbreak Coach who has been through a divorce. I’ve experienced personally the whirlwind of emotions it causes. Emotions can fluctuate from happy to sad in a matter of seconds, and you need someone who knows this from personal experience. I know how to talk straight to a person’s heart while also telling them how to overcome their pain.

The fact that individuals trust me with their hearts to help them is the most rewarding aspect of my job. I don’t take it for granted that people are vulnerable in my presence and want my assistance. I love seeing people who have overcome adversity and are happy, healthy and healed. My heart beams when I am able to assist someone because I know how much I needed this at the start of my journey.

Starting my business was not a simple decision! I said, “Are you sure?” when God commanded me to start. I knew God was driving me into this field after he sat me down so I could hear directly from Him! So I said yes to God, and I was all in to get started!

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned since starting my business is to be yourself! People come to you because they need your assistance! They want you to be genuine. Their future depends on you being honest with them throughout the process so that they can heal.

If I could scream anything from the rooftops, it would be that healing is required before you move to the next phase of your life!
You can not afford to not heal.

I am here to help you REBUILD.
I am here to help you HEAL.
I am here to help you GROW.
I am here to help you LOVE YOURSELF.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my best friends come to town to visit, I am ecstatic! Ponce City Market would be the best spot of the day. Brunch at Bar Vegan would be my first destination. The food and the atmosphere are both fantastic! Also, the drinks are delectable! After brunch, I’d walk across the hall to The Village at PCM to spend money with Black Businesses.

After that, I’d take a walk about and grab a King of Pops Popsicle before heading to the Beltline to take in the vista, artwork, people, and environment. After that, I’d go to Ponce City Market’s Rooftop for games and beverages while admiring the lovely skyline! And while we are viewing the skyline, I would be their personal photographer and make sure they get some amazing pictures! I mean what are besties for?! Besties are suppose to capture the best photos! So I would be their personal photographer!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I’d like to dedicate this to God. I would not be here if it weren’t for God, and I am eternally grateful.

Second, I’d like to thank my parents, who are my staunchest supporters in all I do. My father always encouraged me in whatever I was doing, and even when I tried to quit, he wouldn’t let me. He taught me a lot about finishing what you start and not giving up too soon when things got difficult. He instilled in me the habit of seeing things through to the end. My mother instilled in me the value of pursuing your aspirations and never dimming your light to accommodate others. She instilled in me the need of being kind while also being firm when required. They instilled in me important lessons that I still remember today.

After that, I’d like to express my gratitude to my family. My family is incredible, and they always come through for me. Whether it’s checking on me, holding my hand in difficult moments, teaching me crucial lessons, being my loudest fans at events, or simply dancing with me, they are always there for me.

Last but not least, I have an incredible group of friends that support me and push me to be the greatest version of myself. Their friendship and support mean the world to me!

I am eternally grateful to everyone in my life that prays for me, lifts me up, and encourages me to pursue my purpose!
