We had the good fortune of connecting with Lance and Lea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lance and Lea, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Lea is from Ohio/Colorado and I am from Texas.

For me, growing up in a small town (Beeville, TX) everyone knew everyone. We had a close community so we all helped each other when in need. All my best friends grew up on the same street I lived on so we all hung out and started playing music together early on. I think we all made each other wanna become better musicians and I got introduced to playing with a band from the beginning. This def helped me become the guitar player/artists I am today.

For me, (Lea) growing up singing in church really helped me find my voice and when my dad passed away that’s what really started the songwriting journey for me. The first song I ever wrote was about him. I think going through those hard times really helped shape who I am today and made me realize how much of a gift this life is and to not take it for granted!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are artists musicians and songwriters from Nashville, TN. I think one of the things that sets us apart is our connection. We are a couple and have been in love and on this musical journey for a decade now.

Also the fact that we come from such dramatically different backgrounds yet somehow found each other in this life. Lea grew up Amish, singing in church with her sisters and I grew up playing in rock band. My first concert was Metallica at age 13.

We are most proud of our songwriting and the music we have released. Four albums and two more on the way this year. We love songwriting and it’s def what brought us together.

We got here today with hard work and support from many people along the way. It hasn’t always been easy and you gotta be willing to try new things and be open to them as well as most importantly, put in the hard work! One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned is to let go and let God! You’re only in control of your choices, and how you react to the external world. You have a choice as to whether or not someone or something gets you down and for how long.

The thing we’d like the world to know is dream big and remember that what’s going wrong in your reality is always available, but so is what’s going right! So choose to focus on what’s going right. Trust that God and universe has your back! And things are happening for you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
