Hi Lamaria, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
Staying consistent in my work and promoting myself!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my hair servicing business about 11 months ago, June 22’, and what I’m most proud of is the growth. I started this business when I was 15 years old and to have a clientele and support just makes me so proud. Sometimes I feel I lack support but my clients, family, and friends help me to remember. I’m 16 now and so excited about what the future hold for me and I can’t wait!! This journey has definitely been challenging. Things like braiding speed, products, head size, etc are all things I have to learn about. I’ve learned about products and hair for different textures, parting techniques, ways to work faster. Things I’ve learned along the way is time is money and you always deserve time for yourself. In the beginning I’d always accept appointments or find ways to squeeze an appointment in and not have any time to do things for myself. Now I have a schedule with off days and additional fees when my requirements are met. Money isn’t my drive but I want to ensure my time is valued and respected.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well me and my friends enjoy time at each others houses. So I’d spend time at theirs and they’d spend time at mines. We’d definitely get food, play roblox, listen to music, and hold TikTok.
