We had the good fortune of connecting with Lakesha Cunningham and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lakesha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my business stemmed from health reasons. I wanted to find an easy way to live a healthier lifestyle which was juicing. This has made a significant change, not only me but also my family.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Juice Smoothly is a black owned business founded in 2019. I sell cold pressed juices, immune shots and sea moss. I take pride in personally delivering products directly to my customers.
I am extremely proud of being able to start another stream of income for my children and following my parents footsteps of entrepreneurship.
The start up of a business is far from easy. It takes a lot of restless nights, tears and sweat but most importantly, a strong support system. Success will not come if you’re sleeping nor does it happen over night.
I take pride in the time, quality and efforts that I put into my business and the satisfaction of my customers.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love BarTaco! It’s a nice place with chill vibes and great drinks. TrendUrban is also another favorite spot of mine. Their menu is so diverse which is great for everyone.
I really enjoyed indoor skydiving at iFly in Atlanta and Painted Pins is another favorite entertainment spot that I highly recommend.
Atlanta is filled with celebrities and entertainment which is great because there is always something to do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been such a huge supporter during this process of beginning my entrepreneurship. Also, the support from my family and friends has been unbelievable and I am forever so grateful.
