We had the good fortune of connecting with Lakeisha Dixon Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lakeisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Nearly 12 years ago, I embarked on this journey because I felt a strong calling from God. I knew He was leading me to something greater. I had tried college three times, but it just didn’t feel like the right path for me. I also realized that earning $10 an hour wasn’t enough to support the life I envisioned. Deep down, I knew I was meant for greatness, even though I wasn’t sure how to get there.

I vividly remember God speaking to me, assuring me that He would use my voice. Shortly after, I released my first book, The Victorious State of Mind, and soon after that, I was introduced to coaching. Now, almost 12 years later—and 11 years since leaving my corporate job—I’m grateful to be thriving in my God-given purpose. With unwavering commitment and consistency, I’ve grown into a Master Life Coach and established an online bakery, Savory & Sweet Treats. It’s been a rewarding journey of faith and perseverance, and I’m grateful for every step.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Breakthrough Coaching and Leadership Academy (BCLA) was birthed in 2013 out of a deep passion to see women empowered in purpose, power, prayer, and profitability. I wanted to create a space where women, regardless of background or education level, could discover their God-given gifts and dominate in their respective industries—whether it’s in boardrooms, warehouses, hospitals, or creative spaces. My goal was to teach women how to break through limitations and win, even if they weren’t considered the “smartest cookie” in the room.

Through BCLA, we have built confidence, healed hearts, facilitated promotions, saved souls, and prepared women for advancement. With hundreds of women personally coached and thousands more impacted, we’ve witnessed women rise above obstacles and emerge as C-suite executives, administrators, CEOs, business owners, and creatives. Our brand reaches the core of a woman’s spirit, transforming her into a warrior of worth and worship, and a winner in every aspect of her life.

Our business is built on the pillars of integrity, care, Christ, and love. I am deeply passionate about what I do because I know the impact it has on others’ lives. One of my greatest challenges came on January 1, 2023, when I experienced the devastating loss of my first child through miscarriage at the age of 43. That moment was incredibly painful, especially after the joy of becoming pregnant for the first time. However, God used that season of grief to birth a new chapter in my life—through baking.

I turned to baking homemade pound cakes and cookies as a way to heal. In that process, a new business was born, one where I coach and heal through baking. The pain I endured gave me the strength to create something meaningful out of my grief, allowing me to connect with others on a deeper level. Baking became more than a skill—it became a ministry, a way to extend love, comfort, and healing to others. God knew this journey would be part of my story, and I now teach others how to bake as part of their healing process.

What sets me apart is the holistic experience I offer. When you’re in my presence, you feel safe, heard, and valued. Whether it’s through coaching or baking, I offer a space of confidentiality, prayer, and support. When clients pick up a cake, I take time to listen to their hearts, and if they need it, I offer prayer. It’s not just business—it’s ministry, and that’s what makes my brand unique.

The journey has not always been easy. I’ve faced challenges, but I’ve learned to take each day as it comes and to embrace being a lifelong learner. I study God’s Word, refine my craft, and use my gifts to build legacy and help heal others. My story, my brand, and my work are all deeply rooted in faith, resilience, and a commitment to impact lives through coaching and baking.
