Meet Laila Treadwell | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Laila Treadwell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Laila, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My name is Laila i own a photography company called Twixx productions. I pursued this career because it became an outlet for my mental health as a adolescent. I was bullied , abused and tormented by peers and people around me and i needed an outlet to set me free. In high school i fell in love with video production and photography. It was a way for me to express how i felt n to let go. The toughest times became my most beautiful photography.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart from other photographers is my point of view, my background. I advocate for plus size women and mental health and each of my photographs portray that in a way. I have mastered photographing beautiful bigger woman and men that enhances their beauty, not many photographers are diverse to where they know how to photograph bigger woman and men. I was always bullied for my size and how i look and my goal is to treat every customer like a king or queen , they are leaving with a confident boost and beautiful pictures that’s sometimes they don’t think they can take! It has been a struggle bus pushing through mental health and building a business but it made me stronger in the end and it pushes me to keep going. How i treat my customers is the base of my business its a Safe space and a creative space and everyone is worthy of feeling beautiful. If there is anything i want the world to know about my brand is , it doesn’t matter what size , race , orientation everyone is beautiful and worthy to feel confident. I was broken and i took my pain and turned it to art.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite itinerary would be as follows. I would start off the day with the beautiful waterfall at the Roswell mill. Than take a beautiful stroll through Piedmont park. Best place for food would definitely have to be Marietta Dinner. And dinner at the sun dial in Atlanta. End the night on the sky view of Atlanta seeing all of Atlanta and its beautiful glory. Don’t forget to check out the Georgia Aquarium and the Coca Cola factory. If you are up for a drive 1 hour away take a little drive to cave springs Georgia and walk through the beautiful cave! Also see the beautiful falls of little river canyon

I would not be this successful without the support of my family , they where always there to push me and support me in all aspects of my career .
