Meet Ladyy Smith | Singer (artist)

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ladyy Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ladyy, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Treat people how you want to be treated. Because we all fall short and we seem to forget that. I feel like our purpose on earth is to b kind and understanding. Judging is for god and god only.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a singer is who I’ve always wanted to be but I let my talent go for yearsssssss. Thinking I wasnt good enough or that because of the things I chose to do out weighted my talent. But it doesn’t. if i didn’t go though life the way I did i wouldn’t have found my music again. My voice is all I got. It is the one thing that I never want to lose about myself. I represent and stand for young troubled girls/women that think change is not possible or that no one loves them. I am the light that shows you, you can do it anything is possible. Your past doesn’t define you. You have already been forgiven. You just have to forgive yourself!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My dad Hugh Haynes. May he continue to Rest In Peace. My father was so supportive of my singing and he really taught me the wisdom I know today. My father was real didn’t hold back. Would tell you how it is and that was that. Before he passed I spent time taking care of him and in that time he told me to never stop singing because I never know who will hear me. After all the chaos i caused in my childhood he still believed in me and knew I was someone great.
