We had the good fortune of connecting with Lady Ty The Great Titanya Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lady Ty the Great, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Relentless obedience to purpose — that’s the secret sauce.

See, I didn’t chase money, trends, or applause. I chased assignment. Every book, every brand, every student I helped write their truth — it wasn’t just business, it was divine alignment. I knew I wasn’t just building a brand; I was birthing a movement.

The most important factor behind my success?
I stayed consistent in the calling, even when it was uncomfortable. I turned pain into power, turned books into businesses, and turned everyday people into legacy authors. I didn’t fake it, I faith’d it — and that faith built an empire.

Purpose made me unstoppable. Obedience to God made me successful.
The world noticed because I never quit. Simple as that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is the alchemy of transformation—taking raw stories, heartbeats on paper, and turning them into empires. While some see pages, I see blueprints; where others see a book, I see a business waiting to be born. That’s what sets me apart: I don’t just write words, I build worlds and show others how to profit from them.

What excites me most is watching another writer realize they’ve been able to write and create they just needed the right coach. The message and the things they have been threw once documented and packaged they are sitting on a gold mine, then helping them turn that one manuscript into 25 streams of income. I’m proud of my 14 books, sure, but I’m most proud of the hundreds of clients who’ve gone from “Who would read this?” to I made 15k plus from 1 book or “I just quit my day job because of this.” turning their Books into business and Brand.

Getting here was anything but easy. I didn’t wake up one morning a best‑selling author and publishing coach; I faithed my way here what does that mean. I did more then invest in my self I sacrificed, When I wrote my first book I didn’t have the money to take the classes I heard God give me an instruction and I followed it during that time in 2016 I had more bills than money I took my Georgia power light bill money and paid for a writing course when I told coach I used my bill money she spoke against that and said as a believer in GOD i should do things in order and pay my bills first. I explained to her I am obedient when he tells me to do something I do it. I took the course and discovered at the end she was ONLY teaching writing not Publishing and she brought on Publishers to sell the package deals which started at 5k. I was like wait God surely you gonna give me the money for that because thats the type of faith I had. God didn’t have me finish a Book and not be able to publish it. Guess what, I did not supernaturally get the money and God told me he would teach me to Publish – I cried cause I am not a tech girl nor did i believ I could do that writing the book was 1 thing I actually healed threw my writing process however publishing its a NO. lol I fought my way through my cried eyes and errors, judgements because at the time I didn’t have any money for an editor, and the occasional “Who does she think she is?” I self‑published when self‑publishing wasn’t cool. I hit walls, ran out of money, and had to learn the business from the ground up. The lessons came hard and fast: own your isbn number, protect your property, never let anyone else define your worth. I learned to just OBEY GOD, just do it ” done is better than perfect cause perfect never get done”, I became the Great print because there was no blueprint for a woman turning books into businesses and brands—so I wrote my own.
Along the way I also learned that authenticity wins. When I stopped trying to fit into somebody else’s mold and fully embraced my voice, my gift, my crown, everything fell into place obedience is the key. My brand isn’t about overnight success or smoke and mirrors; it’s about Triumphing over trauma – turning the life story into a self published book. building sustainable wealth from your story. I teach people to turn pain into purpose, passion into profit, and pages into paychecks.

So if you take one thing from my journey, let it be this: your story is your superpower. Don’t let anyone tell you that your art isn’t valuable. I’m proof that it can feed you, free you, and fund your dreams—and I’m just getting started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting and I wanted to show her the best time ever I would start with a 6am ride up stone mountain early in the am and some journaling and reflecting time with God on top of mountain and then a walk down – 8am Next go to a juice bar and get fresh juice then a spa for foot massage and facial then 10 am brunch at grits and eggs in atl. Next light shopping manicure catch a live show or movie – go on boatride for afternoon time to dinner then end with a black car driving us top 3 dining in atl and enjoying vibe and tasting food for the fun. end the evening with a comedy club or massage at 24hr spa, and of course we journaling before the night is over – if we could leave atl we would catch a flight to and be on a yacht and all the above would be on yacht to service us.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I step back and look at the mountain I’ve climbed, I know I didn’t get there on my own. I’m the face, the voice, the brand—but there’s a chorus behind me that deserves their flowers.

First and foremost, I have to shout out to God. I’m also indebted to my tribe of clients and readers who trusted me with their stories and allowed me to help them transform those stories into 25 streams of income. Their courage fuels my mission and keeps my fire lit. and Bishop Td jakes for Women thou art Loose conference WTAL where I got delivered and set Free to be able to Write my 1st Book Daddy Issues. I must also give a huge shout out to LL Cool J for endorsing the book in 2020, After our viral interview on IG and Facebook – with so many questions on how I was able to Triumph over my Trauma, This is where I birthed my Writing/Publishing Coaching program. There are so many to name in this process I am grateful for everyone/
