We had the good fortune of connecting with LaDeidra Stokes-Roberts, M.S., M.A and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaDeidra, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The program provides a combination of mental health services, educational services, and life coaching services to children and families. Since the pandemic, we have been accepting adults and couples for services. One of the program’s unique attributes is utilizing the child’s interests and strengths to enhance the session. There are a lot of hands-on activities and fun activities completed during each session that connects education and life coaching. The program provides education, life coaching, and trauma-informed care training to educators and human service providers. The program offers services via face-to-face, phone, virtual websites, and group sessions. Some of the programs that are provided to give back to the community include back-to-school care events, mental health/wellness forums, reaching beyond self-workshops, educational workshops, and other activities.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
RBS Counseling & Educational Services has so many unique characteristics within the business itself. The program provides a combination of mental health services, educational services, and life coaching services to children and families. One of the unique attributes of the program is being able to utilize the child’s interests and strengths to enhance the session. There are a lot of hands-on activities and fun activities completed during each session that connects education and life coaching. The program offers services via face-to-face, phone, virtual websites, as well as group sessions. I was able to get where I am today by promoting myself on social media, attending community events, becoming a public speaker, advocating on radio stations, and promoting myself in major magazine publications. It was some ups and downs because conducting business was not easy but its a definitely a process. The lessons I learn along the way is to trust the process and continue to be a student and learn the important things that comes along with being a business owner while growing and balancing work/family life.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting and I wanted to show them the best time ever I would take them to Destin, Florida. I would book a long week trip where we could hang out on the beach, eat at the local restaurants, visit Crab Island, and also spend time conducting business meetings in between the days.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to first send a special dedication to my parents Leroy & Richardean Stokes (Rest in Heaven). I wanted to recognize my children, my siblings, my best friend/business partners, my godchildren, and my family. I want to give special recognition to my mother Richardean Bostick Stokes (RBS), I credit her because I named my business after her because of her legacy and how much she provided support and assistance to her family and people within the community.
