We had the good fortune of connecting with LaDarrius Hutcherson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaDarrius, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor to the success of my brand has been authenticity and having a genuine spirit that my audience can relate to. I refer to my audience as my “cousins” because I wanted to create a familiarity with them- a family like atmosphere and that is just what I have done!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would consider myself to be a social media influencer. I use to run from the word “influencer” but I have now realized my influence, so I embrace it! What sets me apart from others is just that, I am me. I do not know how to be anything other than who I am and that is my superpower. I am most proud that I have been able to impact the lives of over 30,000 people on my tiktok platform. The reaction I get when meeting my supporters is amazing and it has made me super proud of what I am doing. Getting to where I am has been a journey. In 2015, I started working on being a YouTube influencer., it was a struggle and just when I thought it would never happen, in 2022 my dreams from 2015 became a reality. No matter how hard my journey has been, I am thankful, simply because it makes it all worth it. I would like the world to know that my story has just begun. I have so much more to do within my journey and I am super excited about everything that is on the way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was coming in town I would tell them to look up my tiktok @LHUT__ ! That’s my platform and I have a long list of places to eat, places to visit and things to do in the city of Birmingham.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout Ruth’s Place restaurant. I consider myself an “experience reviewer” and I always give reviews about my experience at different restaurants, bars, events, etc and Ruth’s place was the restaurant that I went viral for reviewing. I would also like to shoutout my friend Shunda for inviting me to come eat with her that day because it has changed my life tremendously!!!
