We had the good fortune of connecting with LaCarla Brockington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi LaCarla, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
The older I get the more risk I’m willing to take. I took a risk by stepping out on faith and starting my business at the age of 21 . Here I am going on 23 years old, still running a successful business. I’m glad I took that risk-because along the way, it has taught me many lessons that have made me grow within my business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Monee’s Kitchen loves the people that it serves. We are dedicated to our customers satisfaction of taste. I am a great cook, a balanced manager, an inspiring leader, and a consummate communicator. The food is about flavor, a well- developed, vastly experienced palate and a true ability to build flavor profiles. My moments in the kitchen with my parents has inspired me to be the Chef of Monee’s Kitchen. It was easy – I live for plate presentations, taste, and the food telling a great story. I learned to focus on the seasons for each food to taste great. I want the world to know my brand as a strong beginning, great character development, and some intrigue surprise.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love spending time with friends and family- giving them a private dining experience. We would go shopping at the Mall- this is great therapy and exercise. I would take them to the Hookah Lounge or Brunch lounge for good vibes. We would spend time around water in the park to reflect being grateful and thankful for our time together.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and family have been my greatest supporters and mentors. Being loved by the best of family has caused me to thrive and succeed in all business endeavors, It has cause me to pursue an environment to mind it, find it, and grind it kind of cycle,
