We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyndal Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyndal, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur in the long run but, starting a business this early was not apart of the plan. Before I graduated college, I was determined to make it big on Youtube and at the time I was self producing and hosting a podcast. (Kyndal’s Korner if you’re interested but she’s going through a rebrand right now) Suddenly I found myself with a diploma and no job instead of 1 million followers and thousands of dollars in brand deals. I realized I was not becoming a social media star over night. So, as any misinformed and wildly delusional 20 something does, I decided to start a business. I was convinced there wasn’t a job out there for me to thrive in(Spoiler alert: untrue. My mom was getting her home redone by a local contractor and I ended up pitching myself to him. I told him I could bring in business and make him go viral on social media. He somehow believed me and fast forward to about 4 weeks later, I did just that. So I registered an LLC and started helping other entrepreneurs create content and manage their social media accounts while promoting myself on Tik Tok to bring in more clientelle . So in short- I needed a job and for some reason I thought starting a business would be easier than job hunting…. I was wrong but it makes for a good story!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I currently work full time as a content producer for a Gen Z Media Company! I also produce content on my own for small businesses and influencers looking to monetize their social media presence. I truly fell into all of this as I have a degree in Theatre. But, I have always been creative and a producer at heart. I love to credit my interest in media to YouTube and finding a camcorder in the basement that I then used to produce Bratz short films when I was younger. Creating has always come easy to me, but finding a safe and consistent way to create has been difficult. I finally feel secure within my abilities and my current position but it took so much time to hone my skill and figure out how to tell people what I was good at. I had to create my own path which was hard to articulate to people at the time. Looking back I don’t regret any of the decisions I made, or the time I spent in my room with my dolls. It shaped me into who I am and helped me recognize the kind of producer I am. I’ve learned over time that it’s more than okay not to have anything figured out immediately. I’ve also learned that if you can’t find the job that you want, make it yourself. It’s important to note how seriously I take manifesting and affirmations. There is simply no way I could have made it this far without believing in myself to some degree, and staying a bit delusional. Like I stated, I created my own path this way and at the end of the day I just want people to understand that they can do that too. Anything really is possible for you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So call me lame but I am taking my friend to Little 5 Points hands down. It’s such a fun area full of life and stories hidden within art and coded conversations you overhear. Java Lords coffee shop is one of my favorite coffee spots so I love to grab a quick cup of something and just explore a little. I am also a gluten free girlie, as I like to put it. My favorite gluten free bakery, hellyeahglutenfree has the best treats so I am also taking all of my friends there to indulge in the perfection that is that bakery.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother easily deserves one big shoutout. She has been the biggest supporter throughout my life really, but especially as I began to sprout my wings and fly from the nest. She’s always encouraged me to do excellent work so I would not have the work ethic or the ability to persevere without her. I love you mom <3
