We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyn Dough and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyn, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“You have to do something you’ve never done, to get somewhere you’ve never been.” This quote has been a motto of mine and kind of the blueprint to how I map out my successes. A friend said it to me once when I explained to them how uncomfortable I was with seeing a vision through. Once I stepped outside of my comfort zone and saw my vision come to life… I pushed myself even more to try/do things I’ve never done and anticipate the outcome.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am Kyndall, known as Kyn Dough. I am a stylist and interior designer. I have done a lot of things from sourcing and pulling for other stylist, artist, and athletes to assisting or styling for music videos, marketing campaigns, and editorial. I have been very passionate about fashion and there aesthetics of life since a very young age. When it comes to living, your space represents you just like your wardrobe does. I once read online “Your crib gotta be as fly as the fit.” and that’s facts. Styling for me is beyond the clothes, I can style your whole home too. I’ve kind of deemed myself as a “Life-Stylist”.
In the business of styling and interior design, It has given me the outlet to express myself and show others who I am creatively. Most importantly, I love to cater to every client or business parters needs; as well as give them a new perspective when it comes to building their brand, target audience, wardrobe, or overall lifestyle aesthetic.
Taking risk has gotten me where I am today. I’m naturally a quiet and reserved type of guy, so in the beginning reaching out to anyone was a struggle for me. One day I chose to just sit that aside and said to myself “I can do this.” and so I did. I sent dm’s, text, made phone calls… you name it. I really just put myself out there and kept inquiring about opportunities until the opportunities start inquiring about me.
I’ve learned that you have to really do the work, and you really have to not be afraid to put yourself out there.
I really would like the world to see and experience my form of art. Whether it be fashion, interiors, or creative direction. I have the ability to story tell through my works and visions. I aspire to have a larger clientele which will allow me to push the envelope and display that creativity in me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
So many to name. I simply enjoy fine dining and retail. Weekday shopping, and lunch at O’sha Thai is something I would suggest. I’m into discovering hidden gems around the city, and the less popular eateries.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family, my mother, my sister, my cousins. They deserve so much credit for their motivation and support. Most importantly my best friend and favorite Atlanta realtor Tekea P. She’s very inspirational and keeps me going. She has pushed me and my name through several doors without me even having that expectation of her.
