We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyliah Baird and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyliah, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite quote is “By any means necessary.” When I was in the end of my undergrad journey, this was a quote that myself and one of my best friends used to keep us motivated to get over our last difficult course. This quote stuck with me as I transitioned into life after graduation and I now apply it to my life today. This quote has been a battery in my back as an entrepreneur. I won’t give up on my dream in helping others through finding their personal aesthetic through fashion.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an individual who saw and heard there was a lack in exclusivity in women’s fashion. There have been many women within my audience who was searching for great quality and statement pieces, yet wanting exclusivity in their style. Many women love the idea of getting dressed, but love the idea even more that the items that they are wearing won’t be seen in the same room, which makes them stand out even more. It has not been easy to find pieces that really stand out but it has been attainable. Learning discipline on this journey has been the biggest lesson, being an entrepreneur means you need to know how to manage your time wisely as well being productive is way better than being busy.

My brand was established in the peak of the pandemic of March 2020 and has grown into a luxury brand for the everyday woman who likes to treat herself to a luxury lifestyle. I had a vision for the brand to serve women exclusive items and I am able to achieve that dream everyday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not a native, but when I do visit, I appreciate going to Ponce City Market and brunching everyday. I enjoy attending networking events as well when visiting the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There would not be a business to recognize without my amazing support system. I would like to thank my amazing husband, for his support and business advice, without him I wouldn’t have been inspired nor encouraged to become an entrepreneur. My parents have been very supportive of my entrepreneurial journey, making sure to spread my brand to everyone they encounter. I would like to thank my best friend for investing time, energy, and so much more that I could not ever repay her for. She treats my brand as if it were hers. I am not limited to just her support, but the support of all my very close friends and family members, they keep me going!
