Meet Kyliah Baird | Boutique Owner, CEO, Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyliah Baird and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyliah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Honestly, being a creative chose the lifestyle for me. I have always had the passion and eye for fashion, yet never fully honed into my own talents and skills. After receiving a lot of compliments on my personal style and receiving requests to help style others helped to bring my creative career out of me.

Having the courage to stand a part from what may be trendy or might be more appealing to the masses has always been my goal. I love individuality and love to provide that to others. When looking for a certain style, I felt that there weren’t many clothing stores that brought looks that I truly desired to wear myself, but I also heard the complaints from other women too.

Being able to create a clothing environment for women to find and excel in their personal style is truly a successful feeling for me. Being able to provide what others are looking for and providing an experience while they look for an outfit is the form of self expression that I will always strive for.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Owning a clothing boutique is quite an honor, yet it forces you to really dig into your inner thoughts and ideas to help make you stand a part from others especially with it being such a large market to be a part of. What I love the most is seeing customers smile bright when they see pieces that I have to offer, because they are looking for something that gives a statement and when they see one of the pieces or more that I have to offer, it instantly brightens their day because they have found a piece that complements their idea.

I have gotten as far as I have today due to truly believing in my dreams and I’m not afraid to put my business out there. I will promote, network, and market my business every chance I get, because I know someone is looking for the experience that I provide. It definitely is not an easy process to really figure out how to stand out, but when it happens naturally for you, that’s how you know you are doing what you are meant to do! I overcome all challenges, by always going back to my “Why”. Nothing comes easy, especially being successful at your dreams, but you aren’t allowed to give up on yourself either. With consistency you will see why all the challenges were w0rth it.

I have learned that you must stay focused, no matter how discouraging the journey can be. The gift and idea was given to you for a reason. Yes, you have to work really hard to get to the success level you are striving for, but your “why” will always be the motivator you need to keep you going. People are needing what you have to offer each day, so you must follow through to help change their lives.

My brand is to help enhance what is already in you. If you self-express through fashion, I love to speak that language with you. Anything to help boost your confidence and make you feel like you absolutely are “That Girl”. The brand is for women to be able to stand as a statement while handling your business with grace. Providing that luxury experience is what every woman deserves and that is what I am to serve to the community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As much as I would love to give an itinerary, I am not a resident. I do love to visit though!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shoutout my entire support system! I have been blessed with some amazing individuals in my life. I can proudly say that my family and friend dynamic has been a huge support on this journey, and they support in various ways. They keep me encouraged and believe in my dreams as much I do. Having a tribe that supports you is not just limited to those that know you personally.

I have had the hon0r of gaining so much support through networking and vending events. I have been able to make amazing connections, which has led me to gain some amazing relationships and friendships. Just encountering really vivacious spirits that are working towards their own personal goals as well as the support they have with mine, well let’s just say I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
