Meet Kyle Saliendra | Director & Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyle Saliendra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kyle, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk is something we experience every day. Every decision you make comes with 2 or more different outcomes and based on the decision you make from your choice will cause a different path in life.
My biggest risk was leaving a social work career to become an entrepreneur.
Being an entrepreneur is a lot tougher than it seems. If you don’t make any sales for the day, you go home hungry. Luckily, it’s starting to all pay off now but it was really tough when I started.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what differentiates me from other creatives is thinking outside the box and trying new things.
The thing I’m most proud of is getting a billboard in toronto at yonge and dundas, really hoping to see my work in times square in my lifetime.
I think networking and meeting cool people helped get to where I am today
Being kind to people was my biggest lesson because people talk about you behind close doors
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends were visiting for a weekend, I would take them to downtown Toronto Specifically Queen St., West, because there’s a good amount of different places to shop get some good food have a drink
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my success in this field to everyone that’s taught me something that revolves around using a camera or computer
