We had the good fortune of connecting with Kyara Lombre and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kyara, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is the relationship I build with my clients. Without them, there is no me..there is no Lab House Studios..there’s nothing. What they take from their experience helps build my brand, so the more clients that feel satisfied with my work and the process, the better chances I have expanding my business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My approach with life has always been to create lifelong memories to share with the individuals close to you. These memories can be short, long, or even a moment in time. What’s most important is that the memories created should be documented in a way that tells a story. So, when I work with my clients, it try to create a story to better understand their vision for the photos shoot, because storytelling is my passion – it’s why I do what I do. It’s what sets me apart from others.

I have been able to achieve the amount success I have mostly due to the amount of labor hours I contribute to the business. I had to minimize my social life, make sacrifices and refrain from dating in an effort to remain focus, and spend as much time operating in my gifts. There were plenty of times I wanted to give up, especially when handling complaints. I was able to overcome the obstacles by seeking guidance from other talented artists in my field and tackling the problems head on. When you address the problems early, you end of learning from them and moving forward with more grace and ease.

What I want people to know about my brand is that out number one goal is to create a seamless, fun experience from start to finish. Also, we don’t want our photos to just be an “Instagram” moment. We want our photos to tell stories -in homes, on websites, in magazines and billboards – as a special keepsake for a lifetime!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would visit the National Mall on an electric scooter – they are so much fun! We would visit the black owned restaurants in the area, such as Victory, Kitchen Cray, Milk and Honey, Creole on 14th, all the carryout spots! Some of the most fun things to do in the city is visit the areas down by the water and national parks in the area.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give credit to my family and friends (there’s too many to name) for their love and support over the past 5 years of my success. They have contributed to my company annually to help support my business.
