Meet Kwanita Wiley | Residential & Commercial Cleaning Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kwanita Wiley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kwanita, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Before graduating from college in 2020, I made a list of businesses I would like to own one day. During the pandemic, I was stressed while working three jobs and found it difficult to secure a job related to my major. After watching the 85 South Show, where a group of men discussed financial literacy, I was convinced to quit my jobs and go all in on my cleaning business idea. I’ve been learning and growing my business ever since.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
-Neata’s Cleaning Service is a small residential and commercial cleaning business. I started as a solo cleaner, now a team of 5, and growing. We service Beaumont Tx and surrounding cities in SETX.
-What sets us apart is our professionalism and ability to go above and beyond to satisfy our clients, improving their mental health.
-I’m most proud of my ability to stay consistent and strong no matter what. Even after losing all of my clients due to price increase, I have remained in business and gained way more than what I loss.
-I got to where I am today by using every failing moment as a learning experience. I have taken everything I have learned along the way to improve my business and myself as a leader. It hasn’t been easy at all, I have cried and almost thrown in the towel. It makes me so excited every time I make an improvement and reflect on where I started.
2 main lessons I have learned:
1.Don’t work for pennies. Understand the value of your service and never settle or negotiate your pricing.
2.Communication is always key. In business and personal relationships, it is always important to communicate the good and bad. I have saved so many business interactions just from leading by example with my ability communicate.
-Above all I want people to see my heart through my service. My passion is to help people in anyway that I can. It fills my heart with joy to know I have helped someone’s mental health or alleviated stress by cleaning their space and/or being a listening ear.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

During the day, we would visit The Cattail Marsh for the beautiful scenery in nature. For brunch or nightlife, we would visit Pour09, which offers a great selection of food and drinks as well as indoor and outdoor seating. For a sweet treat, we would visit Sachi’s Bakery & Dessert Lab

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Both my birth mother and godmother deserve recognition. My mom raised me with love and instilled in me the importance of helping others in any way I can. My godmother made sure I had everything I needed to succeed academically, which helped me gain knowledge and have experiences that have shaped my professional success
